#3319414 Reminder: the Pro Day season just ended. Every mock or big board you've r...

I think people look at mock drafts with the wrong idea. Mock drafts arent meant to be accurate per se, they are however very useful to get a consensus on what players are legit 1st round prospects. I only look at mocks from the big names. Bucky Brooks, Prisco, Mel Kiper etc. I dont put stock into fan made mocks

Except all these mock drafts are created almost entirely based on need and not BPA. "Oh the Panthers need an OT so let's mock them who we think is the next best tackle" - that doesn't mean that tackle is a legit first round prospect. Mock drafts are lazy, bottom line.

#3313648 Would you be open to this Star trade? (very hypothetical)

Posted by MasterAwesome on 06 April 2015 - 02:44 PM

You can't make a trade like this ahead of time assuming that Goldman would be there at 25. If he gets drafted before our pick then we're down to Cole as our starting DT and we have a HUGE hole there. No GM in their right mind would make this gamble under a silly assumption like that...that's the main reason why this trade will never happen and it's pretty silly to even entertain the idea.

Revising your own analogy, Gettleman is like the new stepdad trying to put his family back together after the old drunk abusive stepdad (Hurney) took all their money and left. How about little 6-year-old brat Timmy be grateful that his new dad is doing the best he can under the circumstances.

#3179708 THE key to Victory come Saturday night @ Seattle

Posted by MasterAwesome on 05 January 2015 - 02:55 AM

Their crowd didn't earn their reputation by being a fairweather wine and cheese type fanbase (at least the ones that make it to the home games). I don't see us taking their crowd out of it unless it's a blowout late in the 4th. Certainly not after a couple TDs presumably in the first quarter like you are suggesting. And if we're able to score on our first 2-3 possessions despite the crowd noise, then apparently we are OK playing in those conditions...I wouldn't say that quieting the crowd is the key to winning if we're so successful in spite of it.

Wow I bet that L is for "Loser" and is directed toward Hardy himself!! Scandalous!

#3015881 how does a tie work?

Posted by MasterAwesome on 12 October 2014 - 04:10 PM

Lol why would 8-7-1 LOSE to 8-8, especially since you yourself said it's basically a half-win. 8 > 8.5 ?

#3004909 How loud was BOA in the 2nd half?

Posted by MasterAwesome on 07 October 2014 - 09:12 PM

I feel like it wasn't that loud throughout most of the game. Then the Panthers D actually started gesturing for the crowd to get loud and the stadium got pretty darn loud...and incidentally that was the same play they forced the fumble on Forte and recovered it. I wish they would try and pump the crowd up more often...it sucks that the crowd sometimes needs a little nudge to get going, but it works.

#2974851 2013 - 2014 Wide Receiver Comparisons

Posted by MasterAwesome on 23 September 2014 - 11:57 AM

In all fairness, so far the Panthers are throwing the ball a lot more this year compared to last year (109 attempts through 3 games this year compared to 88 last year). Of course you could make the argument that they're doing so because they feel they have better receivers...but I think it's more that Shula recognizes our o-line struggles with run-blocking (in addition to DeAngelo's injury).

The biggest thing that sticks out to me is how obvious it is that we have a true #1 receiver now. Look at KB's stats compared to the rest of our receivers this year....and compare that to how even the yardage is for our receivers last year. Some people like seeing that even ball distribution but I like knowing we have a true go-to guy...a rookie at that.

#2938160 Why do people keep questioning DG

Posted by MasterAwesome on 08 September 2014 - 09:58 PM

Regardless of whether TB is a bad team or not (too early to say)...it's not easy by any means to beat a divisional opponent in THEIR turf.

#2937729 Johnson restructures?

Posted by MasterAwesome on 08 September 2014 - 06:05 PM

Didn't we just make CJ a captain for the first time this year? I think that shows how much we value him and that he's probably gonna be here long-term. I don't know about us trading for an OT immediately after our o-line had such a strong debut. I think the FO has faith in our line and will stick with it unless they have a couple disastrous performances. If we're making a trade or signing someone so soon after game 1, it's probably at a position like safety that looked a little weak yesterday. Clemons would be my guess..

#2936042 So DA got sacked once

Posted by MasterAwesome on 08 September 2014 - 02:45 AM

It's hard to say off of one game. I think our o-line struggles picking up blitzes at times (they're so young and haven't quite gelled together yet), and I don't think TB sent too many blitzes against us. They seemed intent on trying to win with a 4-man rush but they don't have the ideal personnel to win that battle. Our o-line did great with protection today and opened up some holes in the run game too, but I wanna see how they do against a heavy blitzing team.

#2930886 Official Panthers - Bucs Gameday Thread

Posted by MasterAwesome on 07 September 2014 - 01:02 PM

Carolina will have their hands full today, guarding count them, 3 big ass receivers, all over 6 ft 5 ! Then, you always have to account for Doug Williams.
IF, and it is a big IF, our QB gets time, you guys may be screwed, because your secondary does not match up to our big 3 Receivers.

Lol you mean Doug Martin? Bucs fans don't even know their own players!

And did I really hear you advise Sammi Jo to go "deeper" and "throatier"? That's some x-rated shenanigans right there.

#2920287 You thought Cason returning was crazy?

Posted by MasterAwesome on 01 September 2014 - 08:43 PM

I don't understand why they wouldn't use Percy Harvin there...it's hard to be any better at returning then that guy.  And he's less vital to the team than Earl Thomas.

#2917943 What about TJ Graham?

Posted by MasterAwesome on 31 August 2014 - 01:50 AM

Plus Marqise Goodwin who fills the same role as Graham (speedy guy with return ability), which would make Graham expendable to them.
