#3352729 Official* - Manny Pacquiao v. Floyd Mayweather - May 2, 2015

Posted by Goondal on 03 May 2015 - 09:45 AM

Virtually everybody I know was for Manny and the place I watched had one other Floyd fan out of twenty something people.

The amount of bitching and moaning today is hilarious. I love it.

Anybody watch the earlier fights? That Ukrainian kid seems legit.

#3347701 NFL Draft Rounds 2 & 3 General Discussion Thread - Now Open

I am good with this. It is a WR and they liked him enough to trade up for him which means they really liked him. Everybody thought we could move up thanks to the comp picks and Gettleman fifth rounders are akin to third rounders.

I do not know much about this kid but I like what I am hearing and I trust Gettleman

#3347061 Freddie Gray's death ruled a homicide; 6 officers charged

Posted by Goondal on 01 May 2015 - 05:57 PM

My EMS buddy was telling me about a certain call he went on. Motor vehicle accident. Two guys in a car had flipped. Passenger was thrown out of the car. Driver was dead in the drivers seat.

Passenger was still alive when they arrived. Laying on the ground. As my buddy came to his aid, the guy sat up in shock, turned his head (probably searching for his friend) and immediately after he turned his head, my buddy heard a pop, and the guy died instantaneously.

Dude had a severe spinal fracture. Had he stayed still, he would probably be alive right now and not broken his neck the rest of the way.

As I stated earlier, it looked like Freddie was in severe pain as they were putting him in the wagon. Had the cops listened to him and got him medical assistance, instead of throwing him in the back of the wagon, Freddie would still be alive. He didn't intentionally hurt himself. Ever try riding in the back of a cargo van without being buckled in? It's a fun ride for sure. With a neck injury....it would've killed him.

A friend of mine that is an RN was telling about an accident her friend was in. She had a bulge on the side of her neck but felt fine and was sitting up. Someone on the scene luckily noticed this and convinced her not to move. Had she the same thing would have happened.

I agree with your assessment as to what happened to him. It is obvious from the video that Gray was in pain.

I work in childcare and my site is actually the training site for the county. One of the first things I tell new trainees is that if a child is on the ground, not moving and complaining of pain you never, ever move them. The second thing is that any time a child complains of injury you treat it as serious, even if it is that kid that is always embellishing things. Failure to do either makes the child care worker responsible.

I do not know what happened here, maybe the arrest itself was by the book (although that is more than a stretch), but the second they moved him and their choice to not give him immediate medical attention they became responsible.

Robben left calf tear out for the year.

Lewa broken jaw and nasal bone.

Holy poo is this true?

I have never been a fan of a team this cursed and my fandom includes the Panthers, Hornets, and pre-'04 Red Sox

I am a Phillie's fan...please tell me you saw some talent and there may actually be some hope down the line.

The guy in LF made a couple of nice catches.  He also misplayed a ball that loaded the bases and led to a Grand Slam.  It was A ball though (Clearwater) so they all have a long way to go.  Lost to Tampa Yankees 8-7

I agree, there really is not much better than beer and baseball.  A few friends and I took in a minor league Phillies game last night.  Tuesday's you pay $1 for beer, hot dogs, tickets, and a few other things.  Got out of there for ten bucks  =)

So you are blaming white Americans for a riot in Vancouver? May I suggest investing in a globe?

Sorry you're missing out. Playoff NHL hockey is terrific to watch.

glad that you enjoy it. I use to love hockey but then they canceled an entire season and I found other things to do with my time. Never could get back into it after that.

it shouldn't be surprising that a large chunk of people on this forum think climate change is just a buncha sciencey bullshit. if this were, say, the napleshuddle.com , people like stirs would be the lone weirdo that thinks it's just a buncha sciencey bullshit.

beliefs are a product of historical experience that produces present events and circumstances, and america (the south in particular) is the product of particular events that've dictated its hostility towards empirical methods of understanding the world around us. in this sense, we are damned to this fate, the inexorable products of structures and systems far, far beyond our control.

poor stirs

I bet the soccer fans would have our own forum too

My brother texted me the game amount. My first thought was how absurd it was. Then I began thinking about how close that was to the Thanksgiving game. I checked the scheduled and just started laughing
