Hawaii isn't exotic, at least the way I look at it.

It's almost a full on tourist trap.

Either way though, do your thing.

I don't exact consider it exotic either. But I do consider it more exotic than the Caribbean. That's probably because I live on the east coast and its a lot easier/more affordable to go to the Caribbean.

Appreciate all the feedback. I have decided on Maui and Kauai. 4 nights at each. Now on to planning things to do at both. Heard they do caged shark dives. Anyone done one before? Worth it or not really?

Thanks for all the great info. I've got to say I'm quite surprised at how many say go to the Caribbean instead. I've been to a few places in the Caribbean (Aruba, st Thomas, Barbados, st Lucia, st marteen, etc) and had a blast. I guess since I've gone to some of those islands I was looking for something more exotic. I've considered going to Hawaii before but had a hard time justifying the cost. I figured this is the perfect opportunity to do that. However, I don't want to go there if it doesn't stack up. Sounds like I need to do a little more research.

I went to Hawaii on my honeymoon 16 months ago.

I HIGHLY recommand you to pick Maui.

Things to do in Maui

-Watch sunrise from Haleakala peak and then bike down the volcano
-Annabell magic show (a must)
-Discover Hawaii tour http://www.discoverh...and/maui-tours/ Book trip to Big Island to see valcanos and etc... its amazing
-Take a trip to Lanai
-Road to Hana, black sand beaches
-Sunset dinner cruise boat
-Hiking trip and swim in natural pools

Huge amount of food and entertainment!!! My wife cried when we had to leave Maui...

PS: Do not fly thru LA... it will be a nightmare. They will make you leave Airport and recheck ur bags... it's so retarded.

This all sounds good and is what i am looking for. Do you recommend a certain area of Maui or a certain hotel? Also, how are the beaches? I read somewhere that all the beaches in Hawaii are really rocky in the water from the lava rock and require water shoes to avoid getting cuts.
