My only concern is that regardless of how the NO game goes..we are poised to go to the playoffs in one capacity or another unless there is a total breakdown of this team in the next few weeks.
And yet, Williams/Jstew/and Tolbert are banged up. Granted, none of their issues seem to be serious, but yet with the prospect of not only playoffs, but hopefully going deep into the playoffs or dare I say to the Superbowl...I would hope that JStew (whom hasnt been doing much but resting all season) could play at least 1 game here he wasnt injured/resting/being held out because of precautionary reasons.
I think this is why many seem to be worried about Stewert. When the guys that have been getting the vast majority of carries all season (Williams/Tolbert) are taking a bit of rest and nursing football injuries, Stewert who has been riding a bike on the sideline most of the season comes in hopefully to revitalize the corp...only to play a game and go right back to the sideline afterward.
Honestly, I dont know nor care if he plays or not. Point is... at this point in the season with hopes of going further after December...to have a guy who is supposed to be rested and ready to play join the banged up and questionable list does not bode well for our playoff hopes in my opinion
Scored some pastrami over the weekend (a rare find here in Korea) , so I'm gonna keep it simple with a couple pastrami/cheese sandwiches and some homemade chili. At almost 16 bucks a pound, they better be good!
Homemade Italian sausage/bacon/red onion/jalepeno pizza, one made with a sweet apple hickory smoked cheese.
Brats boiled in with S. Korea's first and only "decent" domestic beer, before being kissed on the grill, with the usual toppings
Beef Bulgogi sliders w/ swiss cheese
No veggies allowed at THIS party!
Seriously, I may have met the only other panther fan in Korea (that isnt a soldier) and the kickoff time here is 6am. Gonna be some neighborhood folks who wake up to some great smells and obnoxious drunks this day~ I will consider this paypack (and pay forward) for all the times I was woken up by locals when the S. Korean team was playing world cup matches at 4am.
My reading comprehension is perfectly fine. Your original post was laughable because you were defending an article that lacked adequate research. You should research the definition of journalism before questioning my comprehension. When writing an article in a reputable magazine, adequate research is paramount. He failed to make his argument relevant or reputable by making Newton public enemy number # 1. Dozens of players wear the clips, but his article points to Newton as the renegade.
If you write a trashy article for the public to read you can't be surprised if you get called to the carpet by the public.
That would be true, and expected of a writer IF the publication were one focused on NFL, or even sports in general.
That a writer for a magazine focused on business did not do adequate research about a sports related article (although it does have a small tinge of business related to it) should not be a surprise. If some dude from Sports Illustrated does a story about IBM, few would expect them to put forth much effort in making sure all of the tech-related facts were true, accurate, and up to date. The article was about Cam...not umpteen other players. Granted, he did single Cam out on an issue that is appears others are guilty of as well, but again the article was not about others, it was about Cam, so in that regard his "research" as you put it seems pretty standard. (standard leave alot to be desired, but that another journalistic issue altogether)
You say i defended the article, but yet I did not. What I did defend was the writers job in writing the article. I in no way defended the content of the article other than to point out that he is in fact correct that IFCam is wearing a logo unauthorized by the NFL then it is a violation. (A fact whether you want to acknowledge it or not,
The rest of my post concerned opinions outside of the article. And yes, I stand by my opinion that while we may have had some angst about the focus of the article, the stuff said about the guy has been atrocious. I mean seriously, we call Saints*** fans classless and such yet some of our people fill the guys twitter with such classless comments they might as well be Saints fans themselves.
As of yet, I havent heard that the NFL has come down on Cam or the team for it, so I'm not sure why the article was such a big deal. If in the coming days/weeks Cam gets fined as a result of the article, I could support "some" of the nasty comments 100%, but until then the article is barely worth mentioning, and certainly not something to be wishing death upon and making crude comments about his mother over.
Leave the guy alone. He is doing a job. If he found the same thing on Matt Ryan, ppl would be sucking his twitter cock for weeks, and start numerous celebratory threads about the subject.
Yeah, its kind of crappy its OUR player...but damn its not that big of a deal...certainly not a big enough deal for the reporter to get stalked on twitter and have death wishes sent his way. Cam played a great game, the team FINALLY came on the way we knew they always could. People have been wishing for years we got some spotlight from the media..did you really think all of that spotlight was going to be positive?
I agree with those who said Clausen was thrown in and he was in over his head. Problem has been that I have never really seen him tread water. I can't imagine how we would be any better if he came back. Sad really. I have been looking for the spark for years.
Jimmy didnt live up to expectations..that for sure. That said, NO player on our team deserves the same kind of outright hatred and disdain he has gotten from people here..certainly not from people who claim to love the team.
He may never [produce the spark for our team or any other, but with that said he IS a member of our team, did face a difficult situation....didnt complain or mope on the sidelines about his situation, and has steadily improved over the time. He likely will never be starting caliber for any team in this league, but at the end of the day he does have an NFL contract..something thousands of football players across the country wish they could say, and at a minimum deserves respect for that (or at least, deserves not to be treated like gutter trash by low class so called fans)
