I was an assistant at the camp in Lacey, WA and it was fantastic.
Deangelo, Kenny Moore, and Dante Rosario were there. Dennis Dixon and Jairus Byrd (College Roommate at Oregon) were there as well. Stewie did an incredible job interacting with the kids and inspiring them. His hometown was galvanized and can't wait till next year.
Carolina, you have a good PERSON and a great RB in the person and personality of Jonathan Creon Stewart. Continue to support him and Double Trouble on and off the field. Salute.
Never mind Pinkerton....I get it. You feel that Dwill is the better back period. OK there is no arguing health, production, and big plays.
I will say this though. If you had Jake Delhome and Dwill with no J Stew...do you feel that Dwill would be running the ball like he is now. How is Dwill making J Stew a better back...they COMPLIMENT each other. If you feel that Dwill would have had his last 1 and half seasons here without Jonathan...We can agree to disagree sir.
Pinkerton, I don't think you are seeing the logic in the other poster's counter points. My simple opinion is that the 2 back system is working fine. I did notice the same thing you said...but Dwill took himself out.. Dwill will break a 40+ yarder each game. The counter question would be...what could stewart do with 25 carries?
I believe if you take the 8-10 carries away from Stewart that Dwill will NOT be more effective. I have observed that having Stewie in there keeps defenses worn out for them both. Dwill is elusive and quick twich, Stewie is power and speed. No logical person would say it's Stewart,,,maybe it's the PLAYCALLING sir!
If you are implying that the Panthers coaching staff play Stewart to justify his 1 round status..I don't agree.
But that would expose your real issue which is you think the Panthers wasted the pick on him...you said earlier that they shouldve drafted Flaco. That's opinion as a fan and you (and others) are entitled to it.
Bottom line is this. Dwill gets more carries. Numbers don't lie. So the times when stewie comes in...the box is stacked...and everyone in the stadium knows it's a run...and an NFL defense stuffs him...well that's not because Jonathan Stewart is a less capable back sir.
On another note, this 2 back system will benefit them both in their NFL careers.
I agree...Criticize is a loaded word....I didn't extract that from this thread specifically. That's just the general tone when it comes to Stew.
Like your coach says.."It is what it is" He has been injured since college. I was just speaking to the fact that the average person doesn't know what it is...the media and Docs just throw out stuff. I hope that he can remain a productive player in Carolina. Remember I'm not impartial...I'm talking about my boy. He does have a responsibility to play and play well based on draft status and salary. When he doesn't perform he should judged in that light. I'm on board w/ that.
