#1836476 Multiple dead in TDKR showing

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 25 July 2012 - 08:51 PM

I have no clue why or how someone would attack really. I'm just assuming that it would be a burglary or something along those lines. Honestly, you're fuged regardless if someone with a firearm wants to harm you. The whole right to bare arms bullshit takes a big hit when you realize that we're currently allowed to purchase and carry weapons, and that law hurt the people in Colorado much more than it dead help them.

The law didn't hurt those people....a crazy sick fug did. A gun was just his selected means to unleash. Without the gun option.... He could of built a bomb (like in his apartment) and walked in to that theater. That is just one example. If a crazy person wants to harm people......gun laws aren't going to stop them.

Do you really think that someone who plans on doing you harm is going to bust through your door guns blazing announcing his arrival? You've got a better chance of disarming someone who has a weapon than you do finding your gun and shooting a man. Unless you're John Wayne you aren't going to draw your gun and kill a man who already has his drawn. The most effective method though is target hardening which is preventative measures that makes your house less appealing to criminals.

and by the way, I'm pretty positive that my teacher who used to be a criminologist in Washington D.C. knows a bit more about crime control than a bunch of rednecks on a Carolina Panther's message board.

No. I think most people break into homes under the belief they are unoccupied...the homeowner being there is a surprise generally.

I have a better chance of disarming people in my house with my hands than finding my gun? What type of logic is being used there?

Bottom line is if someone breaks into my home....I ain't looking to tangle w/ them. That is foolish. I simply get my gun. Yell out the police are on their way.....keep my wife and kids upstairs and tell them they are dead men if they show themselves in my stairwell.

(that of course would be during a break-in during the middle of the night).

I'm a criminal justice major and I've had to sit through plenty of lectures about gun control, buddy. Chances are that makes my opinion matter much more than yours does. If you really want to protect your family you should make your house so secure that no one will be able to get into it and learn hand to hand combat in the case that someone does. I've got news for ya, bud. If someone already has their gun drawn on you they aren't going to let you run to the closet and get out your shotgun.

Steel bars on the windows? Any residential house for the most part can be broken into if someone wants in it....

My house is designed so that only the bedrooms are upstairs. If someone is downstairs....I should have time to make sure no one walks up the stairs. Also, if someone breaks in....I don't want to rely on hand to hand. Anyone can have a puncher's chance and I could be out numbered. Now multiple people getting up my stairs w/ me having my gun.....good luck to them. I got a wife and kid. If I was a single man....I would relay on my karate I learned at 12.

#1835934 Ryan Kalil: We Will Win SB XLVII

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 25 July 2012 - 12:25 PM

Exactly! No one will remember this in 2 maybe 3 days. It will be brought up maybe once every couple of games when an announcer talks about ryan kalil making a good or bad play, and then they will also bring up his off season coments about the superbowl thats its.

3 days from now it will be a non- story....only to be brought up when we make the postseason......maybe.

It holds serious weight that backs up your opinion... But again... If Williams or Stewart for that matter were FEATURED backs like he is... And weren't splitting carries... I believe that either could surpass those numbers easily... Hell, they both did in the same year!!!

Well Ben Tate almost had 1000 yards last year and Foster put his production again...so last year wasn't just Foster getting all the touches

Putting up 2200+ total yards in season isn't something lots of RBs have pulled off even going back to the feature back era.. Durability + talent factor in. That is a lot of production. Foster is legit at this stage

#1835100 If the Panthers are going to the playoffs this season...

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 24 July 2012 - 02:33 PM

...Cam needs to be Captain Crunchtime. Meaning, he performs his best in the 4th quarter with the game on the line. There were situations in 2011 where Cam had the ball in his hands at the end of the game with a chance to win or tie, and came up short.

Will someone please make me a picture of Cam Newton with Captain Crunch's uniform on him, in the spirit that he will be Captain Crunchtime in 2012?

even when he did it.....the refs would call a phantom holding call and Mare would miss an easy chip shot.

I think if we are going to win....the D and ST simply have to not be HUGE liabilities. Offense can score. That will make us a postseason team. But yeah, to be a good postseason team Cam will need to play big in big moments (but that is Cam what has always been known for....playing better the bigger the stage).

#1834053 Jeff Otah traded to the Jets

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 23 July 2012 - 04:26 PM

This is another confusing thing I don't get.

What do people see in Bell? He sucked last year. UDFA or not, it doesn't matter. He was horrible.

He was a Panther. Gets a bump
He replaced the hated Otah. Gets another bump.
Cam mitigated how bad things could of been b/c of his play. Gets a 3rd bump.

But yeah, he was awful if you didn't do the above.

Bell ain't garbage.

Bell is a good story. Hopefully he develops.

What we saw in 2011 was garbage RT play from him. But he was an undrafted rookie...so that is to be expected......but let's not pretend like his play shouldn't be a HUGE concern.

Where the hell are the Jeff otah homers..

Not a homer, but for the 2012 season Otah was dirt cheap and would have given us Pro Bowl caliber play if he could of stepped on the field. Don't like the trade. Now we have garbage at RT.

Trading away OL depth ain't good no matter how it is spun. We got a franchise QB and RBs. Bell could of got Cam killed last year and now he is the top dawg.

#1832989 Anyone a fan of D-Will on Facebook? He is getting flamed bad...

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 22 July 2012 - 08:23 PM

i eagerly anticipate steve smith's response to this.

I doubt Smitty has a response for us....he maybe hot tempered but the guy is pretty smart. He won't touch this topic.

Another example of why Smitty isn't on social network sites....others should follow that lead
IMO

There's doubt about it....that hurt. You just can't give Brady a short field. But it came down to our defense not holding there own.

Yeah, Tom F'ing Brady only had to go 25 yards bc of that kick....

But I blame Foxy...no point getting cute asking him to angle a kickoff like that

DeAngelo Williams

Example #836 of why professional athletes should not be on twitter or have public Facebook pages. At least the athletes worth a poo shouldn't.

he reposted this

I see what he's getting at with all these lines about it, but meh... Nobody on his Facebook is really a fan of him for his views on things...

If he was black or brown.....and was getting his Phd in neuroscience.....the media wouldn't call him a thuggish gang member.

So yeah, whoever made what he reposted is overlooking a lot to try to make some point. Pretty sure the DC sniper was refered to the suspect when caught as well.

And it is silly to suggest police usually pump bullets into bad guys when they get to them after the fact.

Not racist....just a repost of a failed point

#1832035 your starting LBing group and their starting positions

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 20 July 2012 - 10:26 PM

Beason played the weak side ok, but he is stellar in the middle. Kuechly is just a very solidfootball player. He will flourish regardless of weak or middle. I think he will end up better than Beason, but because he is so athletic and injury free he will be best served as our weak side backer. Kuechly's coverage skills will strengthen our LB corps from the weak side. I find it funny how analyst forget just good Beason was in coverage. Anderson should start over Davis because of his durability. He isn't an All Pro backer but he is solid. In my opinion, Davis should be better served as a spark and on third and long replacing Anderson. Kuechly Beason & Davis on third down against this quarterback happy conference would be pretty amazing. They would really help our secondary underneath.

Beason was only okay at OLB bc he moved there at the last minute....freelanced and wasnt comfortable.

Beason can play OLB at a high level if prepped properly. Plus Beason probably needs to be protected from himself....he and TD rotating at WLB could be smart early.

#1829043 cast your votes, should we have let d-will walk last year

Posted by DeAngelo's #1 Fan(CRA) on 17 July 2012 - 09:32 PM

Am I crazy or do I remember seeing Gantt say we could turn it into a 3 year deal with little penalty against the cap?

Does anyone know what he counted against the cap in 11? his base salaries mean nothing, just that 21 mil that was guaranteed is all that is relevant if we cut him. I would love to know how much of the guaranteed money has already hit the cap and how much is left. Can anyone find a full breakdown? (not roto worlds snap shot but rather a written in depth breakdown)

Nothing guaranteed for Williams after this year...which I didn't know.

http://www.nfl.com/n...arolina-panther

One look at Williams' five-year, $43 million contract, Cam Newton's involvement in the running game (70 designed running plays in 2012, including 33 in the red zone, according to Football Outsiders Almanac 2012) and the arrival of Mike Tolbert on a four-year, $10 million contract this offseason casts doubt over Stewart's long-term future with the team, but a return is not impossible.

After this season, none of the three years and $18 million remaining on Williams' is guaranteed. With Williams turning 30 next April, the Panthers could release the older back and go with Stewart, who doesn't turn 26 until next March.
