#2706032 NFL Playoffs expanding to 14 in '15... MNF game likely

Posted by coxc63 on 19 March 2014 - 01:21 AM

Wow...is all I can say, so almost half the league will be in the playoffs now. That's sad on Soo many levels, it's gonna cut down on hard fought, entertaining games now. I really hope the bottom dwellers that get in, get blown out bad to show that they don't deserve to be there, but it's a any givin Sunday league. The way it was set up before was ideal. Goodell is ruining this game.

#2685933 For people who are angry with Dave Gettleman..

Honestly, I am more ticked off at steve than dave. The panthers have paid Steve very well in the past 10 years. They were super loyal to him and treated him extremely well considering some off the field issues and trade demands.

Now after 10+ years of the panthers feeding him very well, Steve has a chance to help out the panthers by taking a pay cut. What disappoints me is he would rather get cut and collect guaranteed money than rework his deal to play out his final 1-2 years with this organization. Gross did it why can't Smith

I understand what your getting at, but smitty has always given his all and worked for his contract. He stuck with us through all the vs seasons and always contributed. His pride is unmatched by any player I've ever seen. I get where he's coming from in the whole situation, this organization has never tried to make his job easier by getting a number 2 beside him. Throughout all these years he stuck through itand gave his all, and for someone to say, 'hey your too expensive, we have to lower your salary" is a slap in the face. Smitty isn't the type of person that just stands there and takes it, he fights for what he feels he's accomplished and deserves. To low ball him is asinine. And to lose him sucks, but time is of the essence, it was going to happen eventually. I'll never appreciate a player more than I do Steve smith, he is the epitome of a Carolina Panther.

No Comcast is buying them out and going to lay off a lot of employees, you would be a new guy with less experience than others. You could end up jobless, just stick to your job now and wait for a more reliable chance.

Am I the only one who prefers different threads for prospects this team might be interested in, instead of searching through one thread dedicated to the combine. Few pages in a thread like that, has observation and details about how the player performed at the combine. The majority of the thread is the huddlers opinion on if the player will be suitable or not. It's the off-season and almost every thread in the main forum has been on the first page for about a week now. It dulls this place down, have a combine section so we can have threads to evaluate each player, if you're worried about clutter in the main thread.

What's so hard about keep negativity to yourself? I don't mean you in particular but just in general and to the other posters on this board. Positive thoughts go a lot farther than draining negative thoughts about how about we will lose, or how much greater the opposing team is vs our team. We can be negative all we want if we get a loss but expecting loses and poo before the game is even played? Just ridiculous..

Pie to you sir for making a valid point, but ari team in '08 was inferior to this 9ers team. And the past 5 years we as panthers fans been let down. Yea we're the 2nd seed and yea this team has busted their ass for it, but this is the exact same situation we were in at that point. Boldin was on that team as well iirc, so of course some of our fans are going to be hesitant right now. Like I said if/when we win this fanbase will be all in.

For my first game section 532 made me proud, except some douche that was a panther fan trying to fight our own fans. The older dude in a mills jersey 2 rows ahead of me, was about to go ape poo on the guy. But I was up and had his back, another fan a few rows back said mess with him and you have all these panthers to deal with behind him lol. The game was awesome and I've never seen a reaction from a group of ppl like the reaction during the captain pick. Once it happened the dude to my right and I went crazy. Idk if he's a huddler but that was one hell of a celebration. I'm might already be addicted to attending games rather than watching from home.

My first game ever section 532 row 8. My friends dad bought them as a Christmas gift. Was wandering where ideal parking areas are at a reasonable price. What are some good local restaurants? I've heard good things about the fox and the hound 'sports bar'.

#2530060 Los Angeles Times Article - Steve Smith

Posted by coxc63 on 06 December 2013 - 02:20 AM

Terrific article. Some fans still don't truly understand just what Steve has meant to this franchise.

I agree. The team we have this year is generating fans that wanted to jump on board for a while now, but were scared too do so due to mediocricy. The new fans have no clue of the impact smitty created. He has been the heart and soul of this team since he arrived, and no other panther before him, not even Sam mills can compare to how amazing he has been to this organization. From the rams playoff win to getting into dbs head everytime he's on the field, his presence has been unmatched. Steve Smith, (rules and regulations) has been the most important player to ever put on a panthers uniform. No other player comes close imho.

Yep everyone in SC is a panther fan all of a sudden. Jumped right off that ATL sinking ship

Whoa there, I'm a SC Panther fan, and been a panther fan since I can remember, not all of us SC people are bandwagoners. Same can be said, "Look at all these NC redskins fans rooting for us now, they can't be bandwagoners." Works both ways.

#2497252 Your reaction when they waved off that flag

Posted by coxc63 on 19 November 2013 - 12:50 AM

Lester had inside position on the ball, and gronk was 2-4 yards behind him, if keek wasn't there and gronk made an attempt to come back to the ball (which wouldn't happen because his momentum was dragging him to the back of the endzone anyways) he would have had to go through Lester for the ball, which woulda resulted in offensive pass interference, so the refs made the right call for once.

Smh a thread to praise keek and Debbie downers are the first few to post...Cmon huddle we're on a winning streak no sense in the negativity.

Really people, beason deserves all the love from us fans, but this trade is ludicrous. It's obvious our gm is helping his former team. Yea beason isn't the same player he was before the injuries but a 7th for him is absurd. I'm sorry, but this trade is Soo bad it's not even funny, fug our organization way to be bottom dwellers a 4th would have been ideal straight up, nyg got a steal, it's obvious what team gettleman cares about more, fug this trade and how this organization has been ran, no wonder why we haven't seen the playoffs since '08
