#947523 Joe Webb is better than Jimmy Clausen.

It's sad another team's 3rd string quarterback is better than our starting quarterback.

#922074 Is there anything Jimmy Clausen does right?

Posted by pantherrice on 13 December 2010 - 08:25 PM

He does do one thing right, get us closer to the #1 draft pick.

#915369 Might I remind you folks that...

I think a lot of people want to believe that we are suffering through this season to get Peyton Manning. I will let them cling to that pipe dream as long as they want.

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm not that impressed with A Luck. I watched his highlights and all I seen him do is complete short passes and make passes to very wide open receviers. I haven't really seen him make any thread the needle type throws.

#866878 Should Hurney be fired with fox

Posted by pantherrice on 11 November 2010 - 03:54 PM

First thing, takes three years to call a bust. So get off the Edwards and Brown trades...

Second thing - BECAUSE THEY TAGGED PEPPERS, THEY HAD TO OFFER THAT CONTRACT TO DELHOMME. It was a must for the rest of the team to come together, they just didn't have the cap room for much of anything after the Franchise tag.

Third, the team went from being 20-44 in four years to haveing the 7th best record in the NFL over the last 7 years..

so 20-44 Prior to Hurney being here
76-60 since Hurney was hired......

He manages the cap, its still his job...minus the Peppers screw up he's done a good job at that... he did a good job in his first coaching Hire...Fox ...superbowl, 2 NFC south Titles and 2 NFC championship games....

He's done a good job in the draft...Beason, Kalil, Otah, Williams, Stewart.....

Most everyone here is wanting to fire what many consider 1 of the top 4-5 drafting GM's in the League (for a team that is rebuilding....) And is also considered one of the best cap managers in the NFL and 1 of the top GM's in the league... Widely considered to be in the top 5 or 10 GM's in the NFL.....

It's hard to improve upon a top 5 or top 10 GM, the improvements need to be made in other area's but GM isn't one of those area's.

A Good GM would not have his team 1-7 and probably the worst team in the NFL. You can say that he drafted these good players, but we aren't winning. We haven't won a playoff game in 5 years. The future doesn't look good for the Panthers either. Steve Smith is aging. Jonathan Stewart looks like he lost a step. D.Will will probably sign with another team. And we dont have a proven QB. And our D-line is still a question mark. And the O-line is suspect. Hurney may know how to draft good players, but he doesn't know how to build an good overall team. He not a good GM and needs to go.

#655346 Who should be the starter Moore or Clausen?

Posted by pantherrice on 18 July 2010 - 08:48 PM

Matt Moore obviously has more pro experience than Clausen, but I think Clausen gives us the best chance to win even as a rookie. Remember some experts picked clausen to be drafted #1 overall. Clausen has all of the right tools around him to quickly develop into an elite NFL quarterback. He has an excellent running game, an excellent offensive line, and a good but unproven receiving corps. Matt Moore has proven he can play, but he sometimes leads our receivers into big hits which result in serious injuries (ex Steve Smith: Broken arm against the Giants in wk 16). Clausen is our future.

#654280 For those of you who want to run out John Fox of Charlotte

Posted by pantherrice on 17 July 2010 - 09:35 AM

He led us to a Superbowl, 2 NFC Championship games, and 3 playoff appearances.
He turned a 1-15 team to a superbowl contender. He was 4 points away from winning us a superbowl title. Now you see what happen to tampa bay when they fired their coach. So think before you say things.
