The Huddle is starting to be overmoderated: worse thing a forum can do

Locking threads at the drop of a hat. Moving threads to other subsections with zero rationale.

Can you guys not just back off? If someone thinks there are too many Hardy/Smitty/whatever threads, as long as they deal with the Panthers (and Smitty's stuff today was a direct attack on the current Panthers front office), what difference does it make if they're made and made in the Panthers subsection? Is it so hard for people to just not click on threads they don't want to read?

Overall, doesn't this feel like the worst NFL season you can remember?

29 September 2014 - 08:27 PM

- The avalanche of domestic violence/abuse stuff

- Seemingly every primetime game has been a blowout, Thursday nights in particular are worse than ever

- No real dominant teams have emerged

- Clowney hurt before we could see what he had

And, of course, the Panthers have been blown out back-to-back weeks. Anyone else paying attention to the league less right now than maybe ever before?

The last time we were blown out in consecutive weeks was when Jimmy Clausen was at QB....

Last 2 weeks of the 2010 season. We have NEVER been completely thrashed in back-to-back weeks like this under Rivera.

Knowing that, who on the Huddle still sees this team making the playoffs?

In retrospect, the season was lost the moment we "suspended" Hardy for the season

28 September 2014 - 02:34 PM

Hardy dominated last season. He dominated the preseason. He dominated Week 1 vs. Tampa Bay. Suspending him has done two things to this team: It shows that ownership and management is weak and willing to cave to media pressure. Shows that they are willing to sell them out in a heartbeat if it gets pressure off them. It also took our only pass rusher off the field. Charles Johnson is having his worst season in years and hasn't had a decent QB pressure I can remember. Quarterbacks are suddenly free to shred guys like Roman Harper and Thomas DeCoud apart. Signing run defending safeties that lack in coverage skills only works if you're going to get a solid pass rush!!!!

Cam's injuries, stars like Kuechly and CJ suddenly playing averagely, Shula throwing us back to the Dan Hennig days, having no deep threat whatsoever.....these are all huge contributors to the suckitude that is the 2014 Panthers, but needlessly suspending Greg Hardy was a self-inflicted decision that hurt more than any other.

48 hours ago the Huddle had Super Bowl visions. Now we should pack the season up and go...

23 September 2014 - 12:06 PM

In the past 48 hours, we've had a bad loss and suffered a slew of key injuries. Is that all it takes for people to give up on the entire team and season? Do you guys think that every team that makes the playoffs does so without taking a bad loss and getting banged up along the way?

Last time I checked we were still tied for 1st place in the division. We still have Luke anchoring that defense with that great defensive line. We have KB out there looking like the best rookie receiver since Randy Moss.

We're 3 games into a 16 game season. I have full confidence that we're going to beat the Ravens and go to 3-1 and then we'll see where things go from there.
