#2964154 Can you relate?

Posted by Fiz on Today, 07:57 AM

2014 Bucs = 2010 Panthers

I know, I know, we all take great joy in seeing the other teams in the south be demolished.

But just think back to 2010... when after 3 weeks we all knew the season was over.  Good lord was that awful.

Can any part of you find a little sympathy for Bucs fans? We do need them to beat the NFC North teams afterall.

in 2010 we at least knew the coach was on the way out.

#2955386 PFF now Loves Keuchly

Somebody explain their points system to me... I am not familiar with how they do that.

They track individual performances, judge them on a series of metrics, then give them a +/- based on the average performance at their position, or how positively/negatively they impacted the game.

I just can't take PFF seriously. Their top 5 QBs through last night (yes, includes yesterday's games):

Matt Ryan
Ryan Tannehill
Aaron Rodgers
Colin "Squidward" Kaepernick
Ryan Fitzpatrick

...wat.

Wait a minute....you mean to tell me with only 12% of the NFL season done stats are wonky and haven't leveled out yet? That things aren't going to change as the year goes on?

You're probably one of those people that thought jeff francoeur was going to bat .400 his entire career too.

PFF, who last year said Keuchly was overrated and the MVP should have gone to Sherman or Watt, now has gotten on board the Keuchly bandwagon.  All it took was a Defensive Rookie of the Year award and a Defensive MVP award to show them maybe he is a little better than they thought.  The reference to Luke is at the very bottom.

https://www.profootb...anthers-week-2/

Watt and Sherman were both incredible players, and Watt is maybe the best player in the NFL period. They never once said Kuechly isn't a good player, just that there were players that had better years.

You people are fuging passive aggressive as hell about anyone in the national media.

guys an appeal doesn't mean you get a redo. if you don't like the ruling you don't just get to toss your hands in the air and say "nope one more time."

you have to prove there was a procedural/legal error with the court ruling. with something like DV cases, which are designed to be solved very quickly (just for obvious reasons) a jury trial is not needed.

For those of you who think the case doesn't count because he didn't have a jury or that his rights to due process have been superseded, are you telling me that every time you've been to traffic court, or small claims court, those rulings no longer count?

Hell, in north carolina in november there's a proposal on the docket for the state to join the other 49 states in the union and allow plaintiffs facing criminal chargers to forgo jury trials altogether!

Criminal defendants charged with all but the most serious felonies would be able to have a judge, rather than a jury of their peers, decide whether they are guilty or innocent if voters approve a state constitutional amendment on the November ballot.

The measure is a seemingly bland bit of policy on a ballot topped by a hotly contested U.S. Senate race, but it deals with one of the most fundamental rights guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions.

"If we're depriving you of life, liberty or property, you can get a jury trial," said Lori Kroll, a lawyer who served as chief of staff to former state Sen. Pete Brunstetter, R-Forsyth, when he sponsored the bill that sent the amendment to voters. Both Kroll and Brunstetter now work for Novant Health.

#2941892 Around the Horn called for Hardy's suspension

When outside organizations and politics get involved it turns into a witch hunt, people want to be able to say, years from now, I was the first to speak out on that, ecspecially in the media! I hate it, but I feel it's only a matter of time before Greg is suspended as a last itch effort to save face for the NFL front office. Back people into a corner and they will respond irrationally.

I agree that this is a time of heightened, uh, care or whatever, but this is also the time meaningful reforms get passed.

Obviously no one here condones domestic violence but if this spurs the nfl to seriously target it I can't imagine any sensible person being up in arms.

Pardon the Interruption is also calling for it, suspension with pay. Yet the thing I keep trying to grasp my head around is, they are essentially saying Hardy IS guilty. They don't care about what was said in the trial or any of that. They don't care that Hardy has a great chance of being found not guilty, I believe. They are pretty much stating he's guilty. I mean PTI even mentioned they read the transcripts, and they are horrified. I'm asking myself 'Did they really read the transcripts?'.

Oh fug pti is what I meant.

I'm drunk whatever.
