#1996106 [11/12] Presser Running Late

Yeah LA..... Lower Albemarle

I heard they'll be moving their training camp to UCLA too..... University of Cullowhee, Left of Asheville

#1994789 Is Newton genuinely disliked around the league?

a lot of defensive players will mock a QBs celebration. Watt did it against Rodgers this season. But yes, the general feeling is that Cam is not liked by other NFL players.

No Joeckel no go. I like the other picks, but OL is way too big of a need to not address it with the best pass protector in the draft....

you know what, after looking at the current standings and what could possibly be the final standings, we really could be in prime position to draft Joeckel. I'm going to change the first pick now.

Time for Version 2, now with higher draft picks!
This may be affected by what I saw today, but whatever I'll let emotion take over.

Its not a great draft to have a top pick. Lots of good talent, but nothing that really separates itself from the rest of the class. Its pretty troubling, we need help in the secondary, on the Oline, DT could use some youth, and a #1 wide receiver. After some info digging, we will be in prime position to pick the best pass protector in this draft. Which leads me to-
Round 1:
Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
6' 6" 310 lbs
Posted Image
Very light on his feet, you don't see him overextend often, very fluid, but not the greatest run blocker. Started at LT since he was a true freshman, making 26 starts, was named Big 12 All Freshman, and First Team All Big 12 by AP last year, with 2nd Team Big 12 by Coaches.

Round 2:
Its a deep draft for OLineman and Receivers. Right now though, we need help in the trenches. So I'm mocking
Barrett Jones, OG, Alabama
6' 4" 302 lbs
Posted Image
He could end up being selected in the first round, but given where we will be picking its not out of the realm of possibility for him to be there in the 2nd. Very technically sound lineman with starting experience at several positions on the line, most of them being RG with 25 starts. Good in pass protection and can move to the 2nd level with ease. Earned First Team All SEC and Third Team All America honors during 2010 when he played RG, and was the Outland Award winner and Consensus All American as a LT.

3rd Round:
Still no 3rd rounder

4th Round:
Figured I'd add some receiver help for no reason, guy thats been impressing scouts lately and might not even be there in the 4th round.
Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M
6' 1" 206 lbs
Posted Image
Underrated speed, good quickness, comes back to the ball, and is overall a polished receiver.

5th Round:
I'm going to add some more DL depth with a guy who could easily shoot up draft boards later on
Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
6' 4" 275 lbs
Posted Image
Has had good production in the Pac 12. Only 3 sacks so far but he does have 10 tackles for loss. Someone we could gamble on in the later rounds. Is a DE in the 3-4 defense, so could help give us looks there too.

As always, welcome to questions, complaints, name calling, anything else.

#1993556 Dear Mr. Richardson,

I'd be shocked if Richardson has ever sat down in front of a computer. His assistants on the other hand....

What are they saying now Joe?
They say you suck sir.
fug 'em I got money and Bojangles.

#1982738 Anyone have a lot of spare time?

Panthers PR Dept.@Panthers_PR
Since Week 5, # Panthers rank 4th in total defense (292.3), & pass defense (189.0) & 5th in points allowed (17.8)

Panthers PR Dept.@Panthers_PR
In comparison to Game 1-4, that's an improvement by #Panthers D of 101.5 total yards per game, 78.0 pass yads per game & 9.5 points per game

More than likely, but oh buddy if he stays around in the 4th.

#1982033 Jairus Byrd FS

who do we cut?

Sherrod is a FA after this season, we can get rid of Naka.
Hell theres plenty of people to choose from.

#1981197 Panthers have the best DE duo?

Posted by BeasonBeastingBacks on 04 November 2012 - 09:02 PM

I'm starting to think we should get a DB or WR in 1st round and 2nd instead of DT. Both Charles and Greg, along with Frank and Thomas are doing good at DE and Dwan and Ron are doing good.

Dwan will be 32 next season and Ron will be 34, we can't exactly keep counting on them to be our starters. We need to inject some kind of talent and since we're going to tight on cap space, we'll need to look through the draft for it.

#1981024 Did AE's catch seal Gettis' fate?

It doesn't really matter, they'll both be cut in the offseason.
