Topics I've Started

Michael Roos

09 May 2014 - 12:01 PM

I generally don't make threads about speculation of players the Panthers could look to acquire, but this one intrigues me. Michael Roos, the left tackle of the Tennessee Titans, might be on the trading block as the Titans drafted his replacement last night. They can't move him over to RT, as they just signed Michael Oher to a long term deal. He couldn't even move to a guard, as they drafted Chance Warmack the year before, and signed Andy Levitre to a big deal as well, which puts him on the chopping block.

Obviously he isn't elite, but is solid, and wouldn't cost that much in terms of draft picks.

Would this be somebody you would be interested in manning Cam's blind side this upcoming year?

Unemployment Benefits after Six Months

23 April 2014 - 09:16 AM

This article goes into how people how haven't ever had unemployment also are more likely to try and cancel benefits, but it also shows statistics on what people think about keeping on potential unemployment benefits after people are out of work for 6 months.

I for one am against extending benefits for longer than 6 months. I understand for some people that they look really hard and can't seem to find a job, but my personal experience has been different. I currently have a roommate that has been on unemployment twice in the past two years, and has been out of job for 4-5 months. From what I can tell by talking with him, he does very little to find a job, but hopes that a place he applied to will get back to him even though there are thousands of candidates applying to a good job opening. My argument is that he could find a job in the food industry relatively easy, and be working while he continues to look for a better opportunity. He doesn't feel the need because he makes almost as much from unemployment than if he worked, which to me is a TERRIBLE mindset to have, and one of the reasons our country's economy is going downhill.

What say you huddle? Should we keep benefits/not keep them and why?

Looks like Charlotte mayor Patrick Cannon got caught in an FBI sting operation.

And btw, this happens for BOTH parties, so please don't make it 'just another dirty democratic'

Thoughts?

How many restroom breaks do you take in a work day?

11 December 2013 - 03:53 PM

I only ask because I've realized that since I switched jobs, my number of restroom breaks has increased dramatically. I used to be a server, and would use the bathroom 1 or 2 times maximum over an 8 hour shift....

Now that I have a blue collar job, I'm going 3-4 times a day

What say you Huddle. What is your restroom schedule for work?

What are your phobias, hangups or quirks?

10 December 2013 - 03:27 PM

Was reading about this in another message board and it's amazing how some strange things people could be afraid of/unwilling to do.

Mine has to be getting blood taken. I don't mind shots as long as it is not in the middle of my arm, but every time they have to take blood, I hate they choose the vein RIGHT WHERE I BEND MY ARM.

What about you? Any strange fears, phobias or quirks you have?
