Panthers Met With DT Jerel Worthy?

He and Travis Johnson (former charger) talked about it on twitter

do we know of any offensive players we've met with post-combine?

Travis Johnson is ignorant
This could mean we're looking for second round defensive linemen that we're confident in plugging into the rotation, then spending our first on BPA.
I don't know him, I'll look him up.
Pretty confident were gonna go DE then DT or vice versa
"The" Jerel Worthy?
love the last 2 tweets.lmao.
For the people that don't know who Jerel Worthy is, trust me, he's going to be a really, really good DT at the next level.

He absolutely dominated Wisconsin's pro level offensive line in their championship game last season. Definitely worth a look.
"what chico and them was talking bout?"

I think this guy learned twitter from Blafell
he has late first to second round grade correct?

he has late first to second round grade correct?

As of now, it seems that way. If we could honestly move out of the #9 spot back to around 16-32, he would definitely be an awesome pick.

If we could get New England's two 1st picks for our 9th, like was talked about before, and we somehow landed Worthy and Jenkins... Holy hell, what a draft that would be.
I have seen him as high as12, or the 3rd D-Lineman. He is top 20 easy. I hate that we may miss him.

I may be a MSU homer, but he would make an immediate impact. He absolutely explodes off the snap. He is disruptive, quick, strong, and above all, has a high motor.

I love the guy. Just not at 9. Or why not? If he can make an impact? Which I believe he will. Then why not? OK, I have talked myself into it.

Fuc Poe or Brockers, or Cox. I want Jerel. And GOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy hell, this kid is insane. I'm a believer after seeing that video. The guy just manhandles people for free. Poe and Brockers didn't look anywhere near that explosive and neither of them had to play Wisconsin. If we can trade down and get Worthy and Janoris/other CB (Kuechly? lol), I'd consider this a win. Screw praying for Claiborne, I'm gonna pray for these two. We have more than one hole on defense.

Yes, this is all based off of that video. No, I don't care.
Every game I have seen him play in, he was a non factor. Didn't show up at all. I wouldn't waste a pick on him
I know it's a highlight reel, but he sure looked good there.

you didnt see the wisconsin, ohio st, or georgia games than.

But that's the problem, he's inconsistent. And by most evaluations, so is his motor. I don't think anyone denies his physical abilities, it's his inconsistency that is pushing him down into the 2nd round.

inconsistency was from his conditioning, and technical issues. things that will be fixed at the next level considering all he will be doing is football. highly doubts he makes it to the 2nd round.

and he was the anchor of the best defense in the big10.
I can't believe people still expect defensive players to be expertly conditioned before they reach the pros as if college football is something greater than just glorified high school football. It's ridiculous. College is not nor has it ever been anything similar to pro football except for being the same sport. Outside the top ten (hell, even some in the top ten), you get players that you see potential in and want to build upon. You can't honestly expect every player in the first round to be an immediate impact player. I'm not even going to make a mocking reference to Madden poisoning peoples' logic because that has nothing to do with this. I have no idea where people get this silly idea that every player in the first round should be ready to go. It doesn't help at all that we're talking about a late first rounder for fug's sake.
If he last till the second i don't see him making it to us. I have been mocking him to the Rams at the top of the 2nd. Speaking of mocks Walter has us getting Morris Claibourne and J-Worthy. WOW. Wet dream draft.

It's easy for fans to assume these things will be fixed at the next level, but that's a luxury teams don't have . A LOT of players come out with those issues and never develop like the fans want/expect...and talent level is not a determinimg factor. The thing is, the lack of consistency he showed is a red flag for teams. And I have heard more than one analyst mention his effort as a question mark as well, so it may not be as simple as coaching up his conditioning and technique. There's no denying he has talent, but he should have shown more consistency than he did, and for him to go any higher than late first (at best), he'll have to alleviate those concerns.
Don't get over hyped on this guy. High lights are great but that's exactly what they are. Highlights, made to make the player look good. Worthy is a 2nd round talent at best on my board.

so you agree that he will go in the 1st? he does so much more things like being disruptive and taking on double teams which dont show up on a stat sheet. he has been playing well for 3 years and just anchored a Michigan St defense that was the best in the Big 10. a lot of players struggling with being consistent or what not mainly because they have to focus on other issues besides football.
Worthy was asked to occupy blockers at MSU. In Carolina his job would be to rush the passer. Worthy can wreck havoc for our DL.
An upgrade fo sho!

Just covering our bases for sure. Rivera is a details freak so its not surprising that we are looking at many options.
