PghPanther replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
Seattle will have more first downs than the Panthers score in points............ -
Our old buddy Joe Horn is in trouble...
PghPanther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
Far too many sports figures are financial infants when it comes to the management of money...........they spend impulsively and buy things for family members and friends like there is no tomorrow. Its as champagne budget from the second they get that first check....... Steve Smith told the story of his rookie season he made something like 880K and at the end of the year he ended up 6 figures in debt because of impulsive spending and forgetting about a little thing called federal and state tax percentages owed.......... There is no way if pampered sports star managed money properly they would have to resort to such nonsense...... Outside of sports there appears to be little in life they are prepared for. Throw the book at them............. and Politicians?...........scum of the Earth.......Public servants...........LOL.......go in broke come out rich. I knew a former congressman who gave it all up and went back to private life. He was going to DC to want to make a difference in serving the public and this country......but when he there he told me all of them spend 90% of their time on the phone trying to get corporate donations to be able to run for office again and/or kickbacks for corporate favors with legislation. All the while they get the best health care and pensions money could buy. Enough ranting.....as I digress..........but it pisses off a person like myself who plays by the rules and gets financially raped for it........ -
NFL Pro players are like race horses in a stable...............owners use them to win races and when they are either too injured or too old to do that anymore they put them out to pasture............ Owners control the fate of players.........not the other way around. Don't forget just because you are a fan of the sport and this team in particular........the bottom line isn't about that. As often said in the Godfather........"It's nothing personal.......its just business"

Rivera wants to coach for "a winner"
PghPanther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
For a winning team to ask Ron to coach them would be like asking Wiley Coyote to come up with a plan to catch the Road Runner. -
Talking Seahawks .... What do you know>?
PghPanther replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
What do I know about the Seahawks? They can beat good teams........very good teams at that. And slaughter bad ones............connect the dots from there Panther fans! BTW.........I wonder if they will show David Tepper on the broadcast when the Panthers are down by a couple TDs before the half........I wonder what he might be eating then? and how many Panther fans do you think actually show up and put their fanny in those seats? -
A look into the Panthers future - Spoiler alert

tea leaves just stirred and tarot cards read...........we trade Cam and Luke to Cinci for their #1 draft pick and alas........Burrow. -
"No One Could Play Behind This OL"
PghPanther replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
Putting an inexperienced undrafted immobile QB behind a seriously underperforming line will make both situations look worse than analyzing them individually. Its like trying to assess a slow lap speed of a race car that has the wrong coilover (shock) travel and a bad tire stagger............when you have both set up wrong at the same time it makes it impossible to determine how bad one of them is alone because of the synergy of them both out of wack make the situation even worse than any single issue you need to deal with. You won't know how really good or bad Allen is with a line like this while at the same time he is trying to learn the NFL system...............and you won't really know how good or bad the oline is until a top QB behind them gives you an indication..... .....wait check that.... We already had that latter situation and sent the QB to IR.............so the oline really is that bad......................... -
Tepper thinking to himself: hmmm........let's see.......if we lose these remaining games and I trade these guys to Cinci............then we can get Burrows in the 1st round....... Then he speaks up............."Hey I need more ketchup and make it Heinz this time....none of that Hunts crap..............and where are those pierogies I ordered?"

Panthers do not have a true rival in the NFL
PghPanther replied to Hotsauce's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
The biggest rivalry the Panthers would have is with UNCC...………...yeah they don't play them but if they did that would be it...…... -
Thursday Night Game Cowboys V Bears
PghPanther replied to Oldmanrivera's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
I loved the Cowboys when Tom Landry was the HC on the sidelines in his hat and suit with that chiseled jaw and stare of his...meaning all business on the field with Roger the Dodger leading the way (and I'm a native Pittsburgher during that time too). But ever since Jones bought the team and fired Landry and then hired the likes of Jimmy Johnson and Barry the criminal for HCs I've hated that team ever since...... What a joy it was to watch that team stink worse than the Panthers on a national game........ -
Washington could be calling plays .
PghPanther replied to Black&BlueBubba's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
Ahhhhh....... and the Panthers are really set now to win games.... Let's look at the results of the last 4 games of their season.....shall we? Falcons 31 Panthers 17 Sea Hags 27 Panthers 10 Dolts 24 Panthers 20 .......and if the have to play for home field in the playoffs... Saints 31 Panthers 10 ......or if they get to rest their players... Saints 21 Panthers 20 Good luck there coaching staff!!........enjoy! -
America is a changing demographic.......and regardless of your opinion on it...........this is going to be a Brazil like demographic country in the next 20 years and so to the economy. .......so how's American football doing in Brazil compared to soccer? Tepper knows the future isn't in the NFL........add in that CTE stuff in there too and you've got a double whammy on top of the demographic change to figure out how to survive. BTW........Mecklenburg county leads the US in Hispanic born birth percentages these days........the writing is on the wall.....there are very few in the Hispanic community who are passionate for American football over soccer.......

Panthers will draft a QB in Round 1
PghPanther replied to Forty-Eight's topic in Carolina Panthers News and Talk
You haven't? You don't need a franchise QB to win a SB if you have a dominant O-line........there are plenty examples of that..........give me the foundation before you build the penthouse view........... On the other hand there are plenty examples of great QB's looking very pedestrian if their Oline can't block for them....... Kyle Allen, is probably a career backup at best...but a top Oline could make him look Brady like......................ever see Tom play a game where he didn't get Oline protection?...........he makes Allen look like a starter.
