  1. When teams shut down CMC or if he gets injured, we're gonna be stuffed
  2. Kyle's couldn't be doing more. I wonder if the fumbling will be a persistent problem though...
  3. Here's an idea @1of10Charnatives Why don't you jump on a plane to London? Go to a pub and give a speech outlining your views about English food When the locals come over for a chat you can respond with a joke. See where freedom of speech gets you.
  4. I think what this shows is that in every country there are plenty of people who have a pretty poor understanding of what people from other countries prefer In this case the myth that Americans regularly consume baked beans I was appalled when I came here and found that most beans are in sugary sauce Many of the things that you describe sound bloody awful. I would hate that too. Some dishes in any country can be explained as something that you are conditioned to eat but which doesn't appeal to outsiders. Think chick foetus in Indonesia or intestines in Korea Or fermented sardines in Sweden. Fact is though that there are options out there in every country now especially in major cities. If you can't find decent food to your taste in this day and age you probably aren't looking hard enough.
  5. Sorry I need to explain it to you. My point is comments and quotations even by famed authors who lived more than a century ago, which were admired or thought witty in those times don't always age well. I get that you and a bunch of people here think that it's hilarious to trot out tired cliches or quotations about other cultures and pass it off as a joke, when at best you've visited other countries for a brief period and have little or no understanding about what local people eat. As someone who lives in South Carolina and endures being told on a daily basis what Americans think they know about my country I suppose it shouldn't surprise me.
  6. 49ers RT McGlinchey out 4-6 weeks, will miss the game.
  7. Twain huh? Well if you like literary references you will perhaps know that Rudyard Kipling, poet and author is widely disdained now as a racist and sexist. Making sweeping statements about foreign cultures is a simple form of prejudice. Hoping the folks heading to London represent the better qualities of the people of Carolina.
  8. British food? Didn't realize the Panthers had games in Scotland and Wales too Haggis and scotch eggs are Scottish. Few people eat jellied eels. Marmite was famously popular during WW2 but has dwindling popularity. Crumpets aren't a dessert but when taken should be smothered in butter. This is a very cliched selection of fringe foods. This is the 21st century when every cuisine is available in most cities in the world. But it's so much more fun to be able to make a blanket derrogatory statement about an entire country.
  9. Just a reminder that 49ers have wins over the Bucs, Bengals, Steelers and Browns who have a cumulative 5-15 record Right now this looks like a game against a playoff team, but by the end of the season we may look back and say we should have won that. No doubt they are a form team on the road but this is not the team some people make them out to be. Their game against LAR this week may be their first real test.
  10. Prior to the browns game Bosa had 1 sack all season. The Browns had Greg Robinson at LT. Bosa is no better than Chandler Jones, JJ Watt or Calais Campbell our last 3 opponents. Cam is either ready or he's not. Whatever happens he'd better realise that if he starts he can't roll out injury excuses again.
  11. Sorry but he might be wrong. Cam has 9 straight losses. Saying that we have precisely zero chance without Cam is dumb. I can accept that our chances are higher with an experienced, healthy, proven QB but to say we flat out can't win is to give Cam entirely too much credit.
  12. Hof players do tend to raise the levels of guys they play alongside Why are people so concerned with what Samuel could do if things were different? No Hof QB is coming here this season. I am concerned with how he can help US not how he could hypothetically help our rivals. It doesn't matter who's fault his underproduction is, he is here and we need to get more out of him
  13. I think there is a clear difference in quality between the two run games. If the weather is bad there is a likelihood of a lower scoring defensive battle. If this turns out to be the case that works more in the Panthers favor.
  14. If you're trying to say that this team is better with 100% vintage Cam, I think there are better ways of doing it than throwing shade at every other Panther by say that they have a 0.0% chance of winning a game without him.
  15. I did. They were uncatchable. Did you read my comment when i asked if he had run the correct route or that he made the break at the right time? Are you certain that he did? Of course not anymore than I am. But you're happy to put it all on the rookie- yeah lets blame everyone but Curtis. So the answer is to throw it to him more? What a genius idea. How am i embarrasing myself with the Zay comparison? Would you care to tell me? It is a straight fact that last year Zay Jones caught more TDS and gained more yards and despite this was run out of town to the delight of the fanbase for next to nothing. Meanwhile in Carolina we continue to accept that Samuel is the unchallenged #2. So what I'm saying is that Buffalo wanted more from a guy who was doing significantly better than Samuel. But after a 2 and a half year sample size, Panthers fans are still happily annointing Samuel #2 based on the fact that he looks dynamic. Our #1 and #2 receivers have combined for a whopping 2 TDs. It doesn't bother you at all that we have no red zone threat outside CMC and the soon to be retired Olsen? I guess you have fairly limited expectations of #2 WR. Obviously Kyle Allen has made some bad throws. Newsflash- that's going to continue. Doing more of what hasn't worked up till now seems like a very RR type thing.
  16. Exactly. Derrick Brown is as good as anyone from last year's strong DL class, but this year there is a drop off after him. I could see IDL but if Brown is gone I feel like there are much deeper positions to select from.
  17. Presumably that's what Norv and MH were thinking with Grier. You want them to have another go? Who do we get rid of? Our 2019 3rd rounder, our 2015 MVP, or the guy who's won his first 4 starts?
  18. Why not? Are we sure he ran the correct route? I take your point on the PI that's fair. My point is all I ever hear on Samuel is excuses. He is considered a #2 receiver but his output is exceeded by a guy who was just traded for a 2021 5th round pick It's projection. It's amazing that he gets so many passes from this fanbase. To quote @NAS This is true. But the fact is he hasn't yet. After two and a half years when are we going to stop projecting his impact and start expecting it? At the risk of flogging a dead horse he has significantly worse production than another 2nd round receiver (Zay Jones) drafted at the same time in Buffalo, who that fanbase are thrilled to be rid of. Do you not find it strange that our fanbase is happy to the point that he is unanimously accepted as #2 for less output. Because I think that is rather curious.
  19. I just don't think this is realistic. IMO, there is 1 really good LT, so let's assume that we could get Andrew Thomas which we won't have a chance to do. Is the franchise going to admit after 1 year that Little and Daley are worth giving up on? It just seems unlikely to me. We don't need RT. We can't cut Paradis because of dead money. We won't cut Turner. Would love an upgrade at LG but there isn't a great guard prospect. But you want to draft one in every round in an overall weak OL draft? Yeah ok.
  20. It's not a great draft for IOL. @ncfan is right-get safety, so long overdue. Of course what we want and what we get may be two different things. @Zeek I'm gonna disagree WR could be a big consideration. Let's be truthful. Take away CMC and where is our red zone threat, especially at WR? Olsen may be almost done. Samuel and Moore have 1 TD each 5 games in. For a #1 and #2 that doesn't impress me at all. I don't think either are technicians they are both athletes who do the damage after the catch. I'd love to see a guy who could actually beat people on routes or make contested catches It's a strong WR draft upcoming.
  21. I like Samuel on reverses and jet sweeps but he isn't close to the player that saca was talking up when we drafted him. I don't say that because I dislike him. His catch rate isn't good enough. He has been outproduced every season by Zay Jones the Buffalo WR who was just traded to Oakland for a 2021 5th. Because he's fast people keep talking about his potential Fact is he's a dynamic athlete who is frequently talked up but has never brought consistent production. As for Moore, yes 1000 yards is great but 1 TD is not. His fumbles have cost us at least 3 games. He isn't winning us games and I highly doubt other teams are saying uhoh when they see his name. Compare that to what you might hope for from a 1st rounder. It ain't Treadwell but nor is it Hopkins.
  22. So, is your point that he should get targeted more or that you think his failure is due to Allen? I don't think he is a genuine WR or RB. He's a lightning fast gadget player, who is most dangerous with YAC Doesn't need more targets he needs more catches He and Moore are feast or famine players neither of whom have lived up to their draft position. But yeah blame the backup QB. Easy target.
  23. 1: R1P11 S GRANT DELPIT LSU 2: R2P11 C TYLER BIADASZ WISCONSIN 3: R3P11 CB PAULSON ADEBO STANFORD 4: R4P11 RB J.K. DOBBINS OHIO STATE
  24. I like the safety pick, lets be honest we all want that position pick. I don't know much about McKinney but is that taking him a bit high? Maybe a good year for a trade back? The other guys I have never heard of though a guy who can play guard sounds useful. I really like that he has the same name as the goth general that sacked Rome. Listening to Joe Marino's podcast he says outside the Top 10 the strength of this draft is CB, WR and edge. I think we might be able to pick up a really good WR and that's tempting since I'm still not sold on our WR unit. Interesting that you use the TDN mock. I thinks its much better than fanspeak. I did one on there the other day and got Paulson Adebo in the 4th. LOL.
