Final Panthers Cuts

Recommended Posts

Todman is being released. They chose Wegher over him. Pretty shocking TBH.

Can we quit posting stuff like this if we are just guessing? Or at least preface our statements with "I think" or "I guess"? We cause confusion with stuff like this.

People will be clamoring for him here, but I didn't think he could catch when we wanted him after he was released from GB, and now he's flopped off of 2 more teams in 1 season. I don't want to touch him, and that's a lot for me to say because I want to touch everyone

Our options aren't exactly stellar, unless we manage a trade.

You're welcome to touch me, I taste like strawberries.

All the squawking you've been doing about WR help, lol I got a legit laugh at this post.

I have my reasons.   Imo, he is like Cotchery redux.  He has put up solid numbers throughout his career, but the best of them were when he was surrounded by talent in a pass-heavy system.   He won't be that guy here.  Remember everyone creaming their pants over Cotchery because of the numbers he put up in Pittsburgh?  Same deal...

Yeah, please refrain from posting "x is being released," when speculating.  If it's legit, post a source, otherwise, please don't do it lol.

So we're at 10 cuts now.

WR Brenton Bersin

WR Mike Brown

TE Marcus Lucas

S Marcus Ball

TE Scott Simonson (a likely candidate for the practice squad)

DT Terry Redden

T David Foucault (a likely candidate for the practice squad)

LB Adarius Glanton (a possible addition to the practice squad if he clears waivers)

LB Brian Blechen

WR Damiere Byrd (probable to practice squad)

Here's the observer article where they're tracking cuts:

We need help, but do you want another Cotchery or bring in a young guy who can get open with tons of potential?

Lol okay, I'll see you guys when he gets released any minute.

Sure, he might.  Or Fozzy might.  So we'll see... but we don't know YET.

I haven't exactly been enamored with Cotchery due to last year, but I'm open to exploring all options.

Not saying he won't, but knowing our staff, I wouldn't be surprised if they keep him, Fozzy, and Wegher, or Fozzy gets cut (based off of preseason performance vs the other two), unless they're able to secure another receiver they like.

With them cutting Bersin AND Lucas it means a spot opened up somewhere else for the time being.
