If someone had told me before the season that Cam would miss multiple games and Kyle Allen would step in and be part of a four game winning streak I would’ve called you nuts.
Im not getting overly optimistic just because we haven’t played the toughest part of the schedule yet and nobody knows what Cam will look like if/when he returns.
1) I do hold Cam to higher standards because I know he is better than most other QBs, especially Allen. Do you not hold Cam to higher standards? Hopefully, or there wouldnt be a good reason to defend him to such an extent.
2) I dont care what other teams QBs are doing, it isnt really relevant. We are a run first team and not all are. Cam is usually a big part of that. And again, I have higher expectations of Cam based on how well he had played in the past and I couldn't care less what the other guys are doing. Hopefully our defense causes them to play poorly and that affects their stats, but obviously last year our defense did no favors for the offense.
3) His stats alone were putting him in some MVP consideration, although there was no one who ended up being even close to Mahomes but it appeared Cam had bought into what Norv wanted to do. The one thing the stats dont show, is that the level of difficulty in his passes went way down. CMC had over 100 receptions so that tells us there were a lot of check downs, easy passes so thankfully the completion percentage did go up. We all gave exception to his lower completion percentage in the past because of the highly difficult passes he was asked to complete so we should at least acknowledge that has changed.
I'm not trying to call you out for using what you did to counter the OP, I could have quoted other people instead. I am just trying to meet in the middle here. And for the record, I do want Cam to get healthy and get his starting position back. I just dont think it is going to be as soon as we are hoping.
