WE didn't have anything to do with making the playoffs in that 7-9-1 year, the rest of the NFCS just sucked more.  So as far as I'm concerned he had 2 good years out of 6.

The team won 4 out of 5 after the bye. With 3 of those wins against NFCS teams, all of which had similar records with a “winner takes” all scenario. They took care of business to get to the playoffs that year; it definitely counts.

Fox and Rivera, both coaches who got the Panthers to the Superb Owl. You realize how few head coaches actually make it there, right?

I do realize that. It’s why I respect that the Broncos made a very hard decision to replace a successful coach with one who got them a Lombardi.

He had arguably the 2 best players in the league in 2015. This team has 4 sure fire hall of famers. It’s not Rivera. He is no different than Mike Brown when he was coaching the Cavs with Lebron

two players dont make a football team man. dont be dumb.

Rivera is a decent coach but does mot have the incline to get us the win in the superbowl...Failure to adjust and go against what everyone knows you will do is not in Rivera. If you tell me your going to rob me do you think im not going to prepare and just keep doing what i usually do without prep.just in case u decide to try.Only a fool would not make preparations..This is Rivera a fool.  Look how Cam and some of the offensive players had to act in order for him to do something different in tbe ATL. What he does not reize is that subperb offenses will eventually break the code of a weak secondary..Julio who normally makes that catch was hurt. Im just saying do something different show your offense you have confidence in them. Just maybe this will ignite them.

When do you think these subperb offenses will break the code? If I am not mistaken we have played 6 of them already (4-2), and somehow our defense is #1 in total yards.

The "assumption" arguments told prove points. They just point out that you don't believe in the product.

Do you believe that the star receiver of every good team will drop the winning game ball everytime. Julio was hurt. Even tho your defense may be good it will only keep u in the game 9/10 you loose if your offense can not muster points. Look at the SB this defense does not have a secondary like the broncos... keep giving these teams  and Qbs the chance ..we almost lost to NewEngland. You have to score some points thats what lost the SB.

Eagles was a loss good defense but a loss. Saintsnot even commenting..Bears good defense loss..bc of what not enough points. If panthers defense does not generate turnovers in good field position we will lose the win against falcons proves this. You are betting on your defense to overachieve in every game if the offense is not fixed. That is not going to happen.

People are still worried because we're not as good as our record, despite having this defense.      We can feel that we are barely winning a lot of times.    We also know that Rivera loves games dictated by a field goal.    We know we go into formations that let teams come back in the 4th, ever time.      This offense is terrible.      So really, unless this offense finds an identity we'll get punished in the games that count, if we make it there.

Did he catch the football?

Your argument is the same as me saying do you believe Jonathan Stewart will fumble the football twice in one game? Who has fumbled only 23 times out of 1622 carries (.014% fumble rate) over his career. Statistically and factually Jones dropping a football is much higher of a probability (6% drop rate over his career) than Stewart fumbling. let alone twice in a game.

You are arguing "what if's"

  • What if Julio Jones makes that catch and then the panthers march back down the field and score another TD?
  • What if Jonathan Stewart Doesn't bobble that screen pass against the Eagles and put them on our 14 for an easy TD? Are Eagles still the best team in the league if we win that game?

We have the best damn defense in the league, I think they are super bowl worthy but that's my opinion.

Im not saying the defense is not SB worthy. Im saying you can burn your defense out. Every decade you get a defense that wins the SB. Our defense is good but it does not generate turnovers and score points like the ones that have won a SB did. We have to have an a good offense to great a balance so if the defense happens to have a let down we wont get blown out of the water or loose like we did against the bears.

Baby steps- get to where you have winning seasons in a row

This is Rivera Year 7.

We are no longer in the Rivera Infancy Stage.

We are in the Rivera Adult Stage.

Baby steps were left behind 4 years ago or more.  How are those winning seasons in a row coming along?

I agree. We do need to outplay our defense. However, what does that have to do with Rivera being a bad coach? We can revert this back to Shula or we can see exactly what the coaching staff sees that Benjamin/Funchess just wasn't a good fit for the offense we are running. We have already seen an improvement. Instead of knocking our winning coach, we should let the process happen. This is a business, they know how to run it.
