You post a ton and I've never seen you change your mind or realize you were wrong. To be fair there are many liberals on here I could say this about as well.

You hold all the correct positions on everything, at least tats what you think.

I’m looking at Tulsi Gabbard. Initial impression is positive.

OK, I may regret replaying, but I'm going to ignore the cynical angle here.

Good, vote with your conscious.   If that candidate represents your values, your hopes, and a plan that you think will improve the country, then that's who you should vote for in the election.

Now, saying "I apologetically and enthusiastically support President Trump, no questions." Then you open the door to others questioning you.  From internet morons like us to family, friends and co-worker.

I mean, I can see a coal worker who now has a job saying they love Trump.  On the flip side, there are a lot more people who do not love what he has done for the debt, for the balance of power, for US foreign policy, other economic sectors, etc.

Trump is simply the outcome that we have all been dreading for a few decades now.  The clueless idiot who only cares about winning, doesn't believe in compromise, and is there "to get his."

I would ask you (and the other die hard Trump supporters), do you think the president actually gives two craps about you?  Which of his policies have directly benefited you?  Was that $20 a month tax break enough to help you move into a better home?  Get a better car?  Finally get your savings fixed up?  Or which of his policies have in fact made the US better compared to the consequences of his other policies?

Well if dems nominate someone who plays identity politics then yeah I guess I will vote trump again. Surprise! I’m white, I don’t particularly appreciate being told I’m somehow privileged and racist just for existing.

congrats.  You just realized how easily you are manipulated.  All Trump does is play that card on you and then you get sucked into his con.  Then you endorse an unAmerican POTUS shitting on everything the country is about.

^weird I've never been told that in my life

yeah, I am white too and haven't been told that either.  I do hear a lot of the right repeating to each other.

and yeah, I can acknowledge the fact that overall...being white in life has made for an easier path than being born black.  I mean people with brains can look at US history and life in general and accept that easy fact.  Doesn't mean all white folks are born with a literal silver spoon in their mouths and there are plenty of white folks out there struggling on the same level as their next door neighbor who is black.

I mean "poor white trash" is just being manipulated.  They struggle.  Now they are being weaponized because they are stupid.  I mean, Jared already said so.  Trump found these beautiful gullible and stupid fools during the birther era.  He didn't become a "Republican" because of belief.  He became one because that is where he found a vulnerable group of people he could easily manipulate.  He can make up the wildest and stupidest stuff.....and they believe.

A viable alternative. I feel like recently politicians, trump included have played identity politics too much. I want someone who is going to lead from the center and try to enact policies that will benefit all Americans. I don’t want someone who is too far right and too far left.

Could you expand upon this?

On the surface level it appears that you're implying the left-leaning politics focuses on non-white Americans, right-leaning politics focuses on white Americans, and that somehow a moderate centrist would address neither but rather all.

Or is that what you are implying?

Centrism always bends towards the far right, anyway

Just makes it easy for nazis to amplify their voices bc it accepts it as a viable platform. Don't be fooled by folks who claim they want ti hear both sides when white supremacists are involved, they're just helping nazis achieve relevance

I think both parties pander to what they think will work. In my opinion democrats have moved away from being about the working class and now are catering more towards extremely far left fringe groups who advocate for destructive things like socialism. And the right in turn has become to entrenched in nationalism(full disclosure: I am a very very mild nationalist, but I think there are ways to focus on your country but help others). I think the vast majority of democrats and republicans are good people who want what’s best for the country and best for the rest of the world. I just think right now we are as divided as we’ve ever been and someone who can bridge the divide and bring both sides back together would be nice.

Ironic that a lot of Republicans tend to toss out the "socialist" and "communist" tags when addressing the Democratic platform while at the same time enabling a president who is obviously influenced by this type of government.

Meanwhile, the "communist" and/or "socialist" democrats are the ones working toward identifying and prosecuting this influence.
