Favorite draft prospect

SGA would play the point and guard other point guards.  SGA is a legit point guard.  Coby has not proven he can play the point at the NBA level which makes him a shooting guard when being evaluated for a lottery pick.  In my mind he is a similar player to Monk and would be redundant for us.

Again

The only reason he was being brought up because he was "big enough to guard SGs"

Monk at 6'3 isnt big enough to. Monk would have to guard the PG. Some people even mentioned bring him to start beside Kemba, because he was big enough to guard SGs unlike Kemba and Monk

And at 6'6 180 he was looked at being able to.

Yet you point blank say a guy who is 6'5 185 and more athletic isnt big enough?   Your nit making any sense

Hornets could do some major moving in the draft if we start losing consistently in the next few games. It is possible we could drop to the sixth spot. It would take to some serious losing and some luck form some of the west coast teams we're in front of right now

I am not all caught up in who fits next to Kemba or Monk.  SGA was a good prospect at the point and has excellent size for the position.  SGA was always going to be a point guard.  Coby also has great size for a point guard but he is a bit slender for shooting guard, its not clear which position he would play in the NBA.  If Coby is a shooting guard then he duplicates what Monk brings to the table.  If he is a point guard then he has not shown enough to be worthy of a lottery pick.

Coby should probably be a first rounder just not a lottery pick.  Tarheel bias is a real thing...

I been looking up the college talent and here are some 2nd round talents or summer league/training camp additions
these are the type of players to help round out a 2nd unit and get contributions near the double digits in points

Marial Shayok - Canadian (Iowa St, SF, Senior) 6'6'' Julius Erving award finalist /BIG12
eFG% .571 and TS% .612
(.512 and .568 Devonte Graham snr season was close)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/marial-shayok-1.html

Isaiah Joe - AR (Arkansas, SG, Freshman) 6'5'' 2nd highest freshman in 3FGM /SEC
on a list of just 21 freshmen since 1992 to make at least 100 threes
eFG% .578 and TS% .599
(.512 and .568 Devonte Graham snr season was close)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/isaiah-joe-1.html

Aric Holman - KY (Miss St, C, Junior) 6'10'' Second consecutive season above .43% in threes /SEC
eFG% .571 and TS% .591
(.512 and .568 compare to Devonte Graham snr season was close)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/aric-holman-1.html

Tyrese Haliburton - WI (Iowa St, PG, Freshman) 6'5'' /BIG12
eFG% .668 and TS% .672 / AST% 17.7  and TO% 13.3 and USG% 9.3
(.580 and .604 / 19.1 and 15.2 and 16.9 compare to Devonte Graham soph season)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tyrese-haliburton-1.html

Just did the research for my own fun and some ideas for the Hornets if I could throw them some names that are likely to be left at the backend.
I'd rather we went low risk took players in the draft that may be overlooked, save the cap space for when it really matters, those 1 or 2 or 3 players that make a difference.
Whilst the others from the bench make a difference, smart efficient players etc.

With a local pick from the Carolinas in the 2nd round

Nicolas Claxton - SC (Georgia, C, Soph) 6'11'' /SEC
eFG% .490 and TS% .533 / AST% 12.2 and BLK% 8.0
(compare .566 and .571 / 5.7 and 5.0 Jarrett Allen freshman season)

Dam

If we went all out Tank, i wouldve be shooting hard to grab Morant

Dudes going to be the best prospect in this whole draft.  Zion is just going to go over him because of hype.

Well pick 12 to 14 looking likely. No direction at all. This franchise has no direction. See ya guys in here when we pick in that range and watch the prospects fly off the board. The franchise with the worst future in all of American sports.
