This guy has some skill and could be better than what we have right now.  His preseason stats are pretty impressive.

I like him. I'm honestly surprised he never got an opportunity to start. My theory is that he asked for a release, given all the injuries in the league, so he can seek out where he wants to go. Unlikely those teams would trade but he may try landing somewhere he can get a shot.

Was kicked off his high school team and was kicked off the Clemson team. Never disclosed why for either team, but just think about how bad it must be if a HS team is willing to kick a star QB with legitimate NFL talent off the team. Like you have to do something really, really bad.

Dude bounced around between three colleges and never learned. Still doing the same dumb poo. Yes, he has talent but everyone did their homework on the guy and he barely got drafted as Mr. Irrelevant because he's a complete head case and probably has substance abuse issues. He's probably done in the NFL.

He went back to his high school to watch his brother play, got onto the field and involved in an on the field fight and threatened to bring an AK back.

Then he did the whole breaking into a house high on something in Denver.

Also his eyes are in different latitudinal hemispheres.

These are all reasons he is not on a team.

I think he probably asked for his release to pursue other opportunities. NFL rewards talent, more often than not, and Kelly is worth as much of a shot, if not more, than Taylor would be for us.

Dude has a cannon, is mobile, is willing to take those shots we drafted fast receivers for, and brings an attitude to the field that the offense has been lacking since the Pittsburgh game last season. At this point, what do we, as a team, have to lose?

Of course we won't sign him, but someone will.

He keeps making knucklehead mistakes and the Colts were sick of his poo. They just lost their long-time starting QB and their current backup is Brian Hoyer. Hoyer is terrible. If you can't be given a chance to beat out Hoyer I can't imagine you have another shot left as an NFL QB. If he really did ask for his release, that's just further proof of idiotic knucklehead behavior. The guy's an idiot.

Brian Hoyer isn't great as a starter because they don't let him run the offense that suits his abilities. There is something to be said for his time in New England and how he looks when running that offense. I imagine is Josh McDaniels took that offense to the Colts, and Hoyer was starting, they would be humming along.

However, Hoyer as a back-up is more valuable than Kelly. There is a reason Kaep hasn't been signed as a back-up and it's not because he kneels for the flag. He has nothing to provide. A back-up helps the starter prepare by collecting materials, studying film, studying the offensive game tape, and providing insight when the defense is on the field. Kelly doesn't have the experience in the game to do much more than watch and develop. They aren't developing him to start for the Colts, he doesn't provide the back-up role needed, so why would he want to hang around?

The cultural mindset of "wait your turn" is going away, and thank god for it. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed, and if you have the ability and have shown that, and there are opportunities elsewhere to provide you the visibility needed to show the skills you have, you take them.

Good for Kelly.

Hey, let's make fun of the state with sensible marijuana regulations while our state is ravaged with meth, opioids, and heroin!

Who's making fun of it? I spent all of August on porches with strangers getting high in Colorado

LOL! You're talking like this guy has proven something. He's appeared in exactly one NFL game, never thrown a pass in an NFL regular season game, and has one rush for -1 yard to wrap up his career stats. The only thing he's proven is that he's an idiot loose cannon who is highly likely to do something stupid to either get himself suspended and/or otherwise disrupt the team.
