Any scoop on James Campen, Mr. Scot?

He spent something like 11 years as the Packers line coach. Got swept out when LaFleur took over. Wound up in Cleveland for a year but I don't think you can hold that against him.

The only mention I've seen of him came from David Newton. I still find it believable, but I haven't seen anything else and Newton can be off sometimes.

The only person I know they've interviewed is Pat Flaherty but it feels like if you were going to get the job, he'd have had it already.

Thanks. I agree on Flaherty...not overly impressed with his body of work anyway. I don't remember the Giants OL being all that stellar during his tenure there but I could be wrong. This is one position we absolutely have to get right.

Not sure if this holds a ton of weight, but it's interesting. If it's on point, Flaherty's lines tend to do well in not allowing sacks compared to the rest of the league, but they also don't run block well.

Safeties coach, maybe? Perhaps assistant secondary coach?

Starting to wonder if every position coach on staff is gonna have an assistant.

When we’re done it will be a healthy mix between college and the NFL.

Maybe depends on what you consider a healthy mix? This is a quick count so I may be missing somebody, but I'm counting 2 NFL guys (3 if you count Matt Lombardi, but he's pretty green), with maybe 3 more likely to be added.  So a little less than a third of the staff will have any real NFL experience to speak of (guys who spent one-two years as low level NFL assistants but primarily coached college I'm not counting as "NFL guys").

No connections to Rhule or Brady that I've seen. Might have met him at the Senior Bowl.

Mind you, he would have worked alongside James Campen in Green Bay. Wonder if that means Campen is about to be hired too.

That'd leave only the QB Coach position unfilled.

Same here.

He's linked to James Campen though. Makes me wonder if he's on board.

Also, kudos to Alaina Getzenberg. She beat the more senior Panthers reporters to this story.

Talk now that Gilbride could end up back in New York.

Also starting to wonder if Chris Snee - aka Coughlin's son in law - might end up on staff as an Assistant OL Coach (he doesn't have enough experience for the full time job).
