Recommended Posts

plus he can throw it at least 10 times further than patrick noodle arm mahomes, and i think that's the most important thing a qb can do.

He’s 28th in the NFL in air yards per completion. He dumps off passes and keeps them typically to within five yards of the line of scrimmage. When you have receivers who can run you can do that.

A good reason why the offensive line hasn't allowed a sack the last two games, is his ability to diagnose the defense and know where to go with the football.

I wonder how many people on this board would try to make it a negative that we have a Qb completing 73% of his passes and leads the league in being efficient when he throws the football.

Drew Brees and Micheal Thomas have won this division 3 years in a row slant routing us to death.

Winning division titles isn't winning championships. Something they haven't won since Brees had an arm.

You sure about that? Looks like there might be another stat correction coming... :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

I mean, to be fair, and I say this as someone who hates the Saints... they haven't exactly had the best of luck in the playoffs lately.  I think they woulda beat the Pats in 2018.  Eagles game woulda been tough in 2017, but the Saints matched up well.

His high percentage is because he doesn’t throw the ball deep. He is Checkdown Teddy for a reason.

Check your air yards per completion and attempt. Tells the more accurate story for this specific topic, whatever that story may be since that's just an image that cannot be sorted. Eyeballing it though he is nearer the bottom.

I think the natural expectation would be that lower yards/attempt and /completion correlates with higher completion percentage. No doubt that Teddy is accurate.

Nah Sean Payton's offense with Drew Brees has always been the completion game, methodical offense.

Marques Colston wasn't a burner and neither was Lance Moore his main two targets, Devery Henderson could stretch the field but that wasn't their bread and butter, it was Colston and Moore running free through your zone defenses and hitting Reggie Bush in the flats and letting him do his thing.

I agree with you about the luck not being there but since Brees has aged out of having a strong arm his playoff threat has been limited, and that was with a lot of talent around him. Look, it's great for in the regular season but the playoffs are another beast. I would say Brady is the example of the exception and not Brees in winning championships with a less than stellar arm.
