  1. If Bryce Young played at BYU, he probably would've lost to Coastal as well. What's your point? Coastal beat Kansas down and Kansas went on to beat Texas. What's your point? App State beat Texas A&M and Texas A&M was 2 yards from beating Alabama, What's your point? There is no point. The same comparisons for Young were made for Wilson, is all I'm saying. Mental fortitude is what separates them, not ability.
  2. I think we could compete for an NFC Championship, when you remove QB from the equation. Everything will depend on Bryce Young and how he translates, ultimately. This is the best receiving core we've had since Steve Smith left. Best running back room, best offensive line, and best coaching staff. If we fail to win the South, it will fall squarely on Teppers shoulders for pushing the wrong QB.
  3. Just saying. Everything people are saying about Young, they said about Zac Wilson. Even if he was in the SEC, he was playing with the most talented team that wasn't Georgia. When his receivers left, he was just average for what you'd expect out of an Alabama QB. I'll believe it when I see it but he's going to have to change a lot of his game to make it in the NFL. I think he will start Week 1, but honestly, he reminds me a lot of PJ Walker, more so than Drew Brees or Russell Wilson. I hope I'm wrong. We have an offense to compete in the NFC now, so long as QB pans out.
  4. Zac Wilson created offense in college too.
  5. Yeah, I got one of those on Monday. Turns out there were quite a few people laid off with no warning. So draining, yes. Anytime a random meeting pops up with five people you know it isn't good.
  6. All that is to say that when you're the boss, you make the call. He's not saying "I'm challenging these guys on their assertions and letting them make the decision". It reads to me like "I'm challenging these guys until they make the assertions I want to hear". fug Tepper. Worst owner in the NFL with Snyder gone.
  7. The sad thing is that you can watch them like a hawk and this can still happen. Not a time for lectures man.
  8. I think 98% of the Huddle would feel the same as him. You get drafted, then you're taking 4th string snaps behind PJ Walker, Sam Darnold, and Baker Mayfield, getting maybe 8 live snaps a practice. Then you're told you're going in for a full half of preseason behind 4th and 5th offensive linemen. Mental reps are great, but how are you supposed to truly learn the offense well enough to run it, in preseason, with 8 snaps a practice? Most scoring drives would have 20 or so snaps.
  9. Corral versus Jacob Eason I guess? Would almost guarantee Corral wins that. I think, personally, most people should feel bad for him. He was drafted to the most dysfunctional coaching staff in the NFL and it wasn't even really close. The only thing he can do is work 10x harder now to get that on tape and get traded. Tepper wanted Young and he got him.
  10. Well, if we have an edge setter who runs a 4.49 40 yard dash, let's fuging go. Why is everyone complaining? Dude is 6'4, 270 lbs, can set the edge and, with some work, will have the speed to get guys on their heels in pass rush. Seriously, why complain? Sure he's raw but the Panthers have more holes on defense than people realize, I believe. I question taking a Nickel/Safety type guy, albeit one who is very good (watched some FSU last year) who is undersized rather than a front 7 guy who has size and elite speed for the position.
  11. Long-term, I'd still rather have Dorian Thompson-Robinson even to Young. DTR only completed what, 72% of his passes in a complex pro style offense with tons of starts? Sound familiar? Ehhhmmm Brock Purdy. 6'2, 205, 4.5 40. If he had played at Alabama he'd probably have been the number 1 pick. But, he was at UCLA which seems to be discounted now.
  12. 6'1, 215 runs probably a 4.5. He runs a lot more like he's 230 and that tended to show up later in games at App. Two things will tell for Cam (who I've followed since App started recruiting him) and those are his health and his catching ability. He has all of the want to in the world and is a lot like a Cam Newton type on the sideline. I'll be interested to see what he can do in the offense. He's very much a stretch, Press, cut and gone type guy for a big dude. Otherwise it's press and push the pile.
  13. Is Stroud already getting to work? Are most QB's not already getting to work? It's a fluff piece we see every year with every top QB draftee.
  14. Corral wouldn't have gone jndrafted in any class. Most teams are going to carry 3 QB's so he's not going anywhere.
  15. This guy runs a 4.49 40, is he really being viewed as an edge setter?
  16. He's 5'10 185 lbs. I don't care what his combine weight was. We just got a very expensive PJ Walker.
  17. For three years until we are drafting another QB because Young ends up with three of four concussions in a single year and is the next Tua. This poo is going to fail spectacularly and I'm here for it. Go ahead and book it. Will Levis and CJ Stroud will have better Rookie Contract careers than Young. Levis, in my opinion, will end up being a Josh Allen type albeit more slight of frame. Stroud is going to be a precision passer that makes our front office look like how it's looked since Tepper took over: inept. Panthers, screwing the pooch since 1995. Trade all that poo away for a 5'9 185 lb QB, lmao. Most Panthers poo ever. Put Young anywhere else other than Alabama and he's a second or third round pick.
  18. Sorry, but Young wasn't the strong point of the Alabama offense. That was Jameson Williams, Jahmir Gibbs, their offensive line, tight ends, and coaching. Now Tua, Tua was a dude at Alabama. Young couldn't even out perform Mac Jones statistically with the same quality of players around him. What does that say about a guy? Give me CJ, Levis, or Richardson. With Young, you get what you're gonna get. Even Brees was 2 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier yet we all know how small he looked. People are going to be in shock when they first see him behind an NFL offensive line.
  19. And the 5'10 180 lb All-Pro Prototype is real? Lmao...our QB is going to be one of the smallest dudes in the NFL. There is no way around that. There is no road map to success here. If he doesn't succeed, we will know why. I'd rather have fuging Brock Purdy with this staff than Bryce Young.
  20. We could easily say the odds aren't with Young being successful. You say "there isn't a data point" but the lack of a "data point" is a red flag on its own. It's not because short QB's don't exist, it's because they generally don't thrive. The only two QB's that were Youngs size and taken in the 1st were Manziel and Murray. Manziel flamed out and Murray runs a 4.4 40 and is built more like a shot running back. He also as a baseball arm. Young is built like a frat boy who goes to the gym, and every trait is average or below average except for, allegedly, his mental processing. He may be a great dude. But being a good guy doesn't mean poo in the league.
  21. I'm confused why Stetson is rated so much lower than Young. Look at their statistics, and who Bennett played with at receiver and running back compared to Young.
  22. So let's go woth a guy who is the smallest and lightest QB's in the modern era at number one, because he scored well on a test he's been practicing since high school.
  23. When is the last time a National Title contender Alabama lost to a .500 Auburn team? I'll wait. Rivalry or not, when Bama is rolling they are rolling. They were the same machine with Young as they were even with Jones and definitely not Tua.
  24. And Auburn was 6-6 that year. The fact it required a 97 yard game tying drive is asinine.
