  1. It's basically Watson or we're spending 2022 watching REALLY bad QB play in a QB league.
  2. Fiit and Tepper need to be on the phone with Goodell. We need to know what puss Goodell will do with Watson in each possible scenario. There is the letter of the rules, and there is Goodell pulling something out of his ass.
  3. Remember that Fitt and his scouts don't know what they're doing as far as evaluating QBs is concerned. You don't want them picking a QB in the draft, and you certainly don't want them taking another long shot on a washed up/ never was veteran.
  4. Trading has yet to resume and we can sit and bide our time of course. No team will want to trade for him so long as his legal troubles remain, so it's fine to stand pat. We know that Fitt and our scouts are incompetent at evaluating QBs, and that makes Watson all the more critical to our success. He's already a proven top quality QB, so we can't miss if we can get a decent deal.
  5. I don't think we do anything until Watson is in the clear legally. Maybe we have a Huddle lawyer who can guess as to what might happen? There is zero chance that any team would offer three 1st round picks and multiple second rounders imo. That's insane. We'll make a reasonable offer when/if Watson is in the clear legally.
  6. “The Panthers are among the NFL teams closely monitoring the Watson situation,” Wilson writes. “Watson has a no-trade clause in his $156 million contract and is reportedly open-minded toward several NFL teams, including the Panthers.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-texans-qb-deshaun-watson-050000453.html
  7. We may not have a 6th pick at all if we trade for Watson, and that just became more realistic with today's news.
  8. Yep.
  9. I heard this coming out of Ian's car.
  10. This is 100% speculation about Deonte and our o-line coach. I think our o-line coach was really bad at coaching our lineman, and the biggest victim of that was Deonte. So the o-line coach was fired, and we might see Deonte starting next season once our new o-line coach has some time to get him up to speed.
  11. The NFL is basically another form of socialism for the rich. The Cowboys bring in a fortune and share it with the Panthers and other poop teams with hardly any fans. The NFL has become a QB competition with the current rules in place. Most football fans just want to watch great QBs in a shootout, and the other teams look incompetent and boring. Then you have the gambling addicts and bookies who are only interested in fueling their addiction or making money. The Panthers will be as popular and good as their QB. No QB, no fans other than diehards. That's why I harp on Watson and QB limbo and all that. We're the Carolina Darnolds, and that is impossible to sell to anyone.
  12. That pick would be the final nail in the coffin.
  13. He will be linked to us until he goes elsewhere, and anything can happen.
  14. I won't rule out Watson coming here, but I'd say 99.99% he's not interested.
  15. The good news is that draft picks more or less will have to come here. No running away like the top free agent QBs, and 2023 might have some great prospects. It's not all bad news.
  16. I would think Watson would try avoid the Panthers the way massage therapists try to avoid him now.
  17. We can restructure several players to free up a lot of cap space. Christensen at LT, and Moton at RT. Our center is not terrible. Deonte might be ready at RG next season, and guards in general are not that hard to acquire.
  18. Yeah I think there were some rumors that he invoked his no trade clause, or made it clear to the Texans that he would, in order to avoid our dumpster fire back in November.
  19. Well we don't know what the price tag will be when trading resumes in the middle of March. Right now we are dead in the water. We need hope or the stadium will be empty. Need to make a big move if not Watson then another superstar QB.
  20. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-panthers-still-interest-texans-205454164.html If we land Waston then all is forgiven. I'll forget bout Teddy, Sam, the bad coaching, courting Cousins, all of it.
  21. I knew not to bring Sam here, so that counts for something. 1-0 against those guys.
  22. Joe if you want Cousins to be our QB then I wish you all the best. I'm leaving until Rhule is fired if he comes here and we trade our 1st round pick for him.
