  1. My gut tells me the Fins are going to make a bonkers offer to the Texans, and at that point we need to bow out. We have to be smart about this even if dumbass Fitt put us in this position, he needs to get us out.
  2. Yeah and this team has a talent, and we're about to free up more cap space when we restructure a bunch of contracts. We'll be ok if we can land him for a decent price.
  3. I'm slightly worried that some of our older Panthers fans might not see another good Panthers team.
  4. No one here is anywhere even remotely qualified to predict the asking price for Watson when trading resumes. However, I think we can safely say that it will not be 5 first round picks haha.
  5. You're going to follow this hopeless situation? Doesn't sound like a good hobby to me, but hey if that's how you want to fill your time.
  6. So are you going to leave until we clean house and get rid of all the coaches and GM?
  7. Seems like the obvious choice. So it comes down to being outbid by some team like Miami, which is highly likely imo.
  8. He wouldn't be the whole offense with Watson at QB. Better odds he plays more games imo.
  9. Imagine Watson and CMC, DJ, Terrace with experience, Robby bouncing back with better passes, Christensen at LT, Moton RT, our center back off IR, Deronte at RG, maybe draft a LG later. That offense with a new OC, and our defense more experienced. That team can win now.
  10. It's basically Watson or we're spending 2022 watching REALLY bad QB play in a QB league.
  11. Fiit and Tepper need to be on the phone with Goodell. We need to know what puss Goodell will do with Watson in each possible scenario. There is the letter of the rules, and there is Goodell pulling something out of his ass.
  12. Remember that Fitt and his scouts don't know what they're doing as far as evaluating QBs is concerned. You don't want them picking a QB in the draft, and you certainly don't want them taking another long shot on a washed up/ never was veteran.
  13. Trading has yet to resume and we can sit and bide our time of course. No team will want to trade for him so long as his legal troubles remain, so it's fine to stand pat. We know that Fitt and our scouts are incompetent at evaluating QBs, and that makes Watson all the more critical to our success. He's already a proven top quality QB, so we can't miss if we can get a decent deal.
  14. I don't think we do anything until Watson is in the clear legally. Maybe we have a Huddle lawyer who can guess as to what might happen? There is zero chance that any team would offer three 1st round picks and multiple second rounders imo. That's insane. We'll make a reasonable offer when/if Watson is in the clear legally.
  15. “The Panthers are among the NFL teams closely monitoring the Watson situation,” Wilson writes. “Watson has a no-trade clause in his $156 million contract and is reportedly open-minded toward several NFL teams, including the Panthers.” https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-texans-qb-deshaun-watson-050000453.html
  16. We may not have a 6th pick at all if we trade for Watson, and that just became more realistic with today's news.
  17. Yep.
  18. I heard this coming out of Ian's car.
  19. This is 100% speculation about Deonte and our o-line coach. I think our o-line coach was really bad at coaching our lineman, and the biggest victim of that was Deonte. So the o-line coach was fired, and we might see Deonte starting next season once our new o-line coach has some time to get him up to speed.
  20. The NFL is basically another form of socialism for the rich. The Cowboys bring in a fortune and share it with the Panthers and other poop teams with hardly any fans. The NFL has become a QB competition with the current rules in place. Most football fans just want to watch great QBs in a shootout, and the other teams look incompetent and boring. Then you have the gambling addicts and bookies who are only interested in fueling their addiction or making money. The Panthers will be as popular and good as their QB. No QB, no fans other than diehards. That's why I harp on Watson and QB limbo and all that. We're the Carolina Darnolds, and that is impossible to sell to anyone.
  21. That pick would be the final nail in the coffin.
