  1. I can see why Baltimore would use this approach.. Let another team negotiate the deal and than match it.
  2. We'll just have to agree to disagree because any QB that is being removed for another QB is not worth a first round pick and definitely not a top 10 pick.
  3. We're playing with hypotheticals. So hypothetically you're Chicago and you've decided you want a QB with the first choice. You draft #1 QB. All any team has to do is wait until the draft is over and trade maybe one or two #2. Once you draft your future QB the incumbent is now very less valued. That's like us trading #1 for Darnold a couple of years ago. (thank god we didn't, 2nd round was too much) Darnold had a lot of Potential but sucked. We were smart not to give them anything worthy of a 1st rounder. I get you think Fields is going to be great but IF (going with the topic) Chicago drafts a QB his value plummets. Offering a first round pick is stupid.
  4. I would have liked to address Edge sooner but the value wasn't there. I am a proponent of continually building the O-line. Most importantly Stroud fell to our lap without trading up.
  5. I agree with you that Chicago isn't drafting a QB. The topic refers to trading for Fields which would say they are beyond him. Just trying to stick with the topic.
  6. I see it the other way. If Chicago wants one of these QBs in this draft, they have given up on Fields. If you are 2 years removed from drafting ANY player in round one and ready to move on. He's considered a Bust to that franchise. It's no different than Wilson in NYJ. He showed flashes but many think the Jets are after Rodgers and ready to move on from Wilson.
  7. He's a talent but he is asking way too much. I don't think any team can absorb the money he wants and still build a quality team. He's more about "SHOW ME THE MONEY" than winning a Super Bowl.
  8. I have never really been a fan of this draft class. I will admit that Stroud probably has the best chance to succeed, especially with Reich but I like the Carr option best. Reich sees something in Carr. It's pretty well-known Reich tried to get Carr in Indy several times. Signing Carr would give us a chance to bolster the WR Corp with the best WR in the class. (Most teams ahead of us are looking QB or Defense) and use our two 2nd round picks BPA. Or, if available, draft one of the top 4 rookies if one were to fall to #9. The first option would give Reich and Co. the opportunity to see what Corral can do as a backup to Carr. If we go for the 2nd option than we would have two young QBs to battle it out to back up Carr. If by some chance Carr, rookie and Corral fail than we go all in to trade up in 2024 for the Best QB in the draft.
  9. If Fields were to become available than it is saying the Bears made a mistake choosing him and are trying to squeeze a pick out of him. NO NO NO NO
  10. It wasn't necessarily his play calling it was the fact that he couldn't make in game adjustments. Don't want him as an OC but would let him as an understudy or assist OC.
  11. 13 Days until the combine. Several players will move up and down on draft boards by showing off in their tights.
  12. Greg could walk circles around Brady. Brady might know the game very well but you have to have a personality to be a color man. I just don't see it. Sadly, they'll lose a good one for a boring one.
  13. No matter how many times you say it, doesn't make you right. If we draft a QB at #9 that QB is going to have a long road before he starts. Corral is going to get an equal look regardless of who and when we draft a QB.
  14. We just might. If Reich sees a QB fall that has traits he thinks he can develop, I'd be on the bandwagon. Wouldn't be the first time a low round pick turned out to be something special.
  15. I'll give you a true story about another QB that wasn't given an opportunity to shine and ended up being one of the greatest QBs ever to play the game. There was a QB was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 9th round. He was given little opportunity to shine and was cut before the season started. As Rhule treated Corral the same was done by a coach named Walt Kiesling. He gave this young man no reps and eventually was cut. The QBs name was Johnny Unitas. While I am not implying that Corral is the next Johnny Unitas the story hasn't been told on Corral yet and to blow him off as a nobody is wrong. I think we all should give the kid a chance to prove himself before someone who knows something takes him and turns him into a star. John Unitas, shunned by the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the mover in the surprising strength of Baltimore. 16. You know I get the hatred for the guy or dislike or whatever it is you think you see. And you're right a True NFL QB can shine no matter the circumstances providing he gets true opportunities to practice with real NFL players. It's well documented that Rhule gave Corral about 5 minutes at the end of practice to play. Give or take that's about 3 or 4 plays, maybe 5. Are you going to sit here and tell me that all camp and preseason Corral got real opportunities? How many posters agreed that Rhule treated Corral like a redshirt freshman. You know if Corral had been given legitimate Reps in practice than I would at least see your point However, to sit here and make it sound like he had legitimate reps in camp and preseason is just not true. You know it and so do I. I'm with @rippadonn on this one. I think Corral with proper coaching is going to surprise a lot of people. He has things that make me believe he is going to be special.
  17. Here's my issue with Lamar. They guy wants a ton of money. Most of these QBs that demand so much money end up hurting the team. They have so much money tied up in one player that you end up skimping on other positions. I love Lamar but what he wants in a contract is too rich for me.
  18. Ok I got Philly. Philly has the best offensive line in the game. Their defense is top tier too. KC is limited with their WRs and Slay and Bradberry will shut them down so the load will be on Kelce. I think Philly mans up the WR and limit Kelce. Mahomes is dangerous but will not be 100% and he'll struggle against Philly's defense. Hurts, though somewhat injured, has many weapons at his disposal and can also run. I think Philly wins a close one. 27-24. All I know for certain is Kelce will win a ring.
  19. Someone has been betting...lol. I saw this the other day and these were the most popular betting items.
  20. He's still young and played much better at the end of the season outside of the New Orleans game. If I were the GM, I wouldn't trade our pick and if one of the QBs land in our lap I would take him. Most mocks I have seen has one of the top four QBs fall to us. I would select that QB and go into camp with Darnold, Corral and the rookie. All of them on an equal plateau. No one really slotted above the other. Let them battle it out. Darnold, IMO, would have the upper hand because he has the experience. Reich and McCown would have their hands full with improving Darnold and developing Corral and the rookie. It would be a huge upgrade over the QB room we had last year. I think Darnold could be had at a very decent price. Going after another Vet might just cost us more and take away from other positions that we might try to upgrade.
  21. There is as much tape on Corral as there are on any QBs in this draft. I don't know what the rules are about a coach getting with a player on their own time but Corral has been out of his boot for well over 3 months now and should be able to start throwing and working on his craft. Should Corral and McCown get the opportunity to work some it will greatly help in the decision on whether we HAVE to draft a QB or COULD draft a QB.
  22. Purely Coincidental. I seriously doubt that Carolina used that as some sort of enticement for Reich. His daughter just got a position on her own. We'll leave it at that, and you can keep your conspiracy theory.
  23. Complete arrogance on Rhule's behalf. How could anyone think a bunch of nobodies is going to compete with coaches with all their experience. It showed in every game. None of our coaches had any idea on how to adjust what other teams were doing. Starting with Rhule on down.
  24. His daughter lives in the Carolinas and applied for a job in marketing. She's been around football all her life and applied to the local team for a position. As a hiring manager it would make sense to hire someone that has an understanding of what football is. Why is it so hard to believe she couldn't get a job on her own. PURELY COINCIDENTAL.
  25. Would you be content with Darnold, Corral and our freshly drafted rookie going into camp? Honestly, I wouldn't have an issue with it.
