  1. And I am saying that is a foolish thing to do. You give your young QBs an equal opportunity and whoever plays better wins the job.
  2. Never said he was a sure thing. My point is that he should get an opportunity to compete for the job. @stan786 implies that Corral won't get shot and will be nothing but an afterthought.
  3. Yeah and based on history there are many #1 picks that are busts. We got one on our roster!!!
  4. You're just so sure that Corral is a bust, I get it. You'd rather believe that our first round pick is automatically the answer. GOT IT. I'll wait until the offseason and see for myself. It benefits us that we give both a clean shot. If one outshines the other but both play well, we have trade capital.
  5. You nor I know truthfully, you make assumptions base off two preseason games on a QB that never got any real reps or your desire to have Stroud or Young.
  6. Very short sided opinion. Kind of like how Atlanta treated Favre huh? Or Tampa treated Steve Young. Or SD did with Brees. Better yet, GB did with Warner.
  7. Not even close. He might be third if we bring a vet in but he's not going to the practice squad. We'd lose him in a minute.
  8. I wouldn't mind seeing Minshew TBH. Stop gap only.
  9. So you're saying PJ and Corral competed....That's the funniest thing you said during this little debate. You and I both know that was never the case. PJ nor Corral were given any decent time under center during camp. Rhule never gave Corral a shot. Rhule was ecstatic that Corral got hurt because PJ was going to be on the roster at all cost including keeping 4 QBs.
  10. Corral has some amazing traits or as you say raw talent. We'll see. The new HC will definitely have an input into the QB he wants to work with but No coach, outside of Rhule, is going to be tunnelvisioned to just one QB including his draft choice. I get he'll favor him some but it's not impossible for any QB on the roster to beat him out.
  11. Because he's a QB on our roster and should be competing with whoever we draft and whatever vet we bring in to start.
  12. I would agree with that however, Young and Stroud come from the elite schools in CFB. Ole Miss isn't as recognizable as Bama and OSU. We are drafting a QB so it will be interesting to see how that plays out in the offseason. I would also imagine we are going to sign a veteran to start the season.
  13. You must not have followed preseason. Most would agree that Rhule wasn't going to give Corral a true shot. PJ is on the Panthers only because Rhule wanted him. He's only on the roster because we don't have a QB. Many of the huddlers, including myself, said when Rhule pulled his stunt on Corral, it was going to force us to take a QB in this years draft. I'm not going to get into the argument that our incoming rookie is 100% better than Corral. No one can say one way or the other until we actually see them play. I have no doubt that we are choosing a QB in this draft, but to anoint him the starter just because he was chosen #1. The bust rate for #1 QB is very possible. IMO none of the QBs in this draft are surefire franchise QBs. If there was, this forum would 95% be onboard with one QB.
  14. That's a foolish approach. You have to give Corral an opportunity to compete. No one in here can truly say he's bust. While the rookie may start the offseason as #1 you have to give both the opportunity to show what they can do. I'm not implying whatsoever that Corral is better than any QB in this draft but he should and most likely will get an opportunity to compete for the position. My point is, if he were to win than that #1 pick just went to waste.
  15. So are you saying that the 2023 rookie is the starter no matter what? Thanks to Rhule's we have no true gauge on how Corral can play. I would think that there would be a true competition. We'll have a new offense so neither QB will have an edge.
  16. I agree that we need a backup, but you don't draft a backup with the first choice of the draft.
  17. That's where the bidding begins. With several teams in the mix, IF and BIG IF, we trade him we could get more than 2 firsts.
  18. First, I agree we will probably take a QB in round one as QB has been such a PIA for us the last couple of years. That said, we will have a true QB competition this spring and into training camp. It is going to be a wasted pick if Corral beats him out.
  19. What I really like about Steichen is he seems to adapt very well to what the opposing defense is doing and makes adjustments.
  20. This has been mentioned several times but the only bad thing about a DC minded head coach is that his OC, if he does well, will be snagged in a year or two and we have to start over with a new OC. I'm ready, as most of us are, for an Offensive-Minded Head Coach.
  21. I think Wilks has an uphill climb that I don't believe he'll succeed and retain the positon as HC. I like him and think he'll do a good job holding the team together, but I think Tepper will want Fitterer to find a good offensive minded HC. This is exactly what I think we'll do. We can argue all day on which current OC is the best candidate. The winning candidate, IMO, needs to not only have a good scheme and be creative but also be able to make in-game adjustments and halftime adjustments. I truly cannot think of one OC we've had since Dan Henning that was decent at in-game adjustments. I know many of you hated Henning or have a bad opinion of him. However, after the Cheatriots knew our entire offensive plan in SB38, he made the adjustment and put us back in the game. So, I'll always respect DH as a great offensive mind (for his Era) and what he did to save face for us in SB38. Obviously, the new HC should have an OC that is his protege. So, whoever we bring in as the head coach we'll have to be happy with his OC. I would also want our HC to call the plays since we brought him here because of his offensive skills. Defensive Coordinator should be a young talented DC like Demeco Ryans or maybe someone from the McDermott tree. I know McDermott and Rivera come from the same tree, but McDermott has evolved into a good HC and his defense is elite. Thoughts?
  22. Just for the sake of argument. Say we trade Burns and get 2 first rounders. DJ probably we get a 2nd and Chinn a 2nd. Shaq if we are lucky a 3rd. So, we go into the draft with 3 first, 4 second and 2 third round picks. If we are fortunate enough to hit on all 9 of these picks 2/3 of them will have the two to three year growing pains. You set yourself back a minimum of 2 years. Brown is a classic example. He was a stud coming out of college but took a couple years to finally start reaping the benefits of his skill. Makes no sense at all. Horn, Burns, Brown, Chinn are the core defensive players we must keep. DJ, Icky, Christensen and Moton are our core offensive players that we must keep. You build around these guys with players like Mays and McCall just to name a few. Gutting the whole team is the dumbest thing you can do.
  23. The difference between you and them. They, like me, have had the same name for the entire time. They don't need to change their name just so they can continue to troll like you do.
  24. He's trying to break the record of Fire Rhule threads in one day. This is his 2nd thread on relocation. Tepper has too much invested in his soccer team and bringing other events to BOA to move this team.
  25. I thought Hubbard would be better at checkdowns but the guy has hands of stone and don't expect much. I would like to see us run a more traditional run game with QB under center and handoffs and play action. Not that I expect much.
