  1. Benjamin was actually pretty good until he got hurt. Then his mom died and he became a head case.
  2. I love Matt Harmon's analysis of receivers because he puts in the work. He and a couple of others are probably the best out there as far as analysis is concerned. The problem is he makes us pay for what used to be free, and I'm cheap. So, I try to get a hold of those free tidbits. In the following vid, he and Charles McDonald of Yahoo Sports talk some of the wide receivers that we may pick. It's well worth the listen if receiver is your thing.
  3. I wouldn't say he's sliding. He was never really rated a first rounder to begin with. Some FO might think he's worth a second, and some may not pull the trigger until the 3rd. But, honestly, that's most of them outside the top three to maybe five.
  4. I get it. Some aren't willing to invest. As for me, I say the risk is worth the reward. He has high upside. I will say that in the past, I've found the profiles on NFL.com to be very dated (as in a year or more old as far as the main profile). I've seen some with dates before, but maybe they don't do that anymore, or are inconsistent. Moreover, you're not going to find the perfect receiver this far down. In this class, other than maybe the three, they're all going to have some questions and need polishing.
  5. Honestly, I would rather have Malik Washington and Jermaine Burton on day 3 if we can't get one of the other tier 2/3 guys.
  6. I agree. I do. But this all a part of it. You have to take all this in stride. It's part of the process. Nobody really knows how this stuff is going to go after about the maybe the first 10 picks. But this is a time to check in and check out---see what's being said. Many are just going back and forth. Sometimes what you hear is true, and a lot of times it's just media-driven hype or fan-driven hype based upon media hype.
  7. Just check the link and tell me if you still think Coleman can be an X. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C51iBo7y0FF/?igsh=MW1kYWJ0Mnk0OGJ6aQ==
  8. For me, it just depends who's there. I'm not against a CB at 33 (if Kool-Aid is there, I think we'd have to pick him), but a corner who is weak against the run just doesn't do it for me. 39? Maybe. There are some questions about EDGE defenders after the top 3 or 4, and the same can be said of receivers. Big names like Chop Robinson or Xavier Worthy aren't locks in the pros. They have to be developed. I can make an argument that Wiggins is more of a sure thing at his position than many of the receivers or EDGE rushers at the top part of the second.
  9. Kaye thinks that corner is our biggest need, so no surprise. I just have a difficult time believing that Wiggins is going to be the BPA.
  10. I mean, he's an old fart---who has earned his stripes and rings---who is stuck in his ways. Teams should've already known that before they brought him in. I heard on the radio that Kraft and Blank denied that he made any disparaging remarks.
  11. Troy Hill. He's getting older, but it's not like he's an unknown quantity. Dane Jackson can also play the position. We need a corner who can primarily play on the outside.
  12. Perhaps. I would still prefer Kool-Aid or T.J. than a smaller corner. Relative to our immediate needs, I would think that a true outside CB is more important than a slot corner. We have a guy or two that can play slot corner just fine. I just don't believe that at 33, he's going to be the BPA. I don't believe it at 39 either to be honest. We'll see come Saturday.
  13. No way it goes down like this. If we trade down, I think a WR in round 2 is a certainly provided one worth the grade is available. And, it could be wishful thinking, but I don't see us skipping Malik Washington (if available), especially if we trade for more picks.
  14. I don't even think Mingo was an "Internet fave," but I do think he was a known quantity. He was also over-drafted to a sizable degree as most mocks I saw had him as a third rounder. To put him in his best position to succeed, we maybe should use him in the slot (like I believe that Pittsburgh wanted to do or would have done).
  15. All this really means nothing if you really acknowledge the truth of it. If he's saying that Legette is going to flop, then whoop-de-doo. Join all the other fans with opinions. If he's saying that it's not going to go over with the fans, well not everyone will be happy anyway. It's hardly analysis to label receivers or situations as the same without looking at specifics and details as to why things are the way they are. Furthermore, time reveals all things. It's like I keep having to post the same things that should easily make sense.
  16. Well, just to say one more time---because I'm kinda just tired of talking about Legette, and I suspect that he may even be gone...or not---I know that he has work to do, but I believe that they all do outside of maybe MHJ. I think that development is simply a built-in part of the equation. I've also said before, that I simply just reject the notion of drafting---or in this case not drafting a receiver based upon a QB's perceived limitations. If you truly believe that your QB can't play with a game receiver, than you probably need to be changing your QB ASAP. That aside, but kind of within the same vein, how does it make sense to base drafting decisions in part upon a sophomore QB that was very shaky during his first season and may not even be around for his third season? It really doesn't if people are honest. If I'm drafting a receiver, it's because I believe in the receiver. I believe in his talent, I believe that he can be developed, and I believe that my staff will be able to put him into positions where he will succeed, regardless. Legette has the skills to be a legitimate X receiver. I also think that he has top 10 upside during his career. Could he bust? Yeah, but so could many. Hell, even Nabers could flop if someone doesn't realize that he's most effective in the slot. My thing with Legette is that you can't hit the home run if you're afraid to take the damned swing.
  17. Pie for the work. I generally look at mocks are just shots in the dark. When so was looking at your later round prospects, l literally said, "He didn't even mention Brenden Rice," but then in your subsequent post, you mentioned Brenden Rice. . We agree on Malik Washington. If I were talking to Dan, I'd be saying, "We gotta have him!" But we all know that each draft has a life of its own. I don't think Kool-Aid is going to be drafted before Arnold, and as such I think that he could possibly slide to us. If he gets past Philly and Detroit, he'd be on our short list for sure.
  18. I'd say that outside of Harrison Jr., Odunze and Nabers all of the receivers are "projects" to varying degrees. I mean, from the mid twenties to the end of the third, there will be no consensus as to what receiver will be the gem that pops once we get into the season.
