All three games we have had sub .900 goaltending from Andersen and PK. Goaltending is reason number 3 we aren’t winning this series. 1. Special Teams 2. Finishing 3. Goaltending This is all my opinion though. I don’t find joy in arguing about why we are losing so I’ll leave it at this.

Our defense is doing their job, without Pesce. Rags are struggling to even enter the zone 5v5. We have scored zero PP goals out of 15 tries in 3 games decided by 3 goals. How you can even begin to blame the defense before that is wild speculation at best. The defense has played well enough to win the series.

We are doing fine on defense. That’s not the issue, clearly. Special teams and finishing are what is plaguing the team.

Munich is a 3 hour drive for me. There are Americans who live in Europe.

How many times has a team come back down 3-0? I have little faith and do not plan on watching. Not going to risk watching the most obnoxious franchise (who has won jack poo in the modern NHL) sweep us on home ice. If they win tonight and in NY, I’ll be back for Game 6 but if Rod is insistent on not changing anything of relevance, why bother. See y’all in the off-season thread.

Next year this team will take a step back. Probably several steps back. It’ll be a bridge year as we develop our ELC players for a year or two. Let Rod develop them and then reevaluate. I think switching up who he has on the bench with him would do wonders.

I’m at peace with it. Knew that double OT loss was likely the writing on the wall. I’m fine with Rod disappearing into the ether. I’m fine with Staal retiring. I’m fine with Necas, KK, Tuevo, Kuzy, Deangelo all being shipped off. Dear god, relegate Burns to 3rd pair or just force him to retire. He is cooked. Fire the assistants, fire DW, make Rod bring in an actual tactician as an assistant or Rod can kick rocks. Get a 2C. Get our young guys onto the 3rd and 4th line and develop them.

Somebody else needs to teach the PP because what it currently is, is a byproduct of already present coaching. Great in the regular season (usually) and falters when it matters and there is less space, in the playoffs.

That might be the series. Going home won’t matter as long as we continue to not convert on the PP. Rangers are going to come out swinging game three because we don’t present a challenge on special teams. Rod needs to earn that new contract.
