  1. I think the debate is actually between Young and AR (who is a distant second) at 1 I actually think the Panthers played their hand well with the Stroud stuff. They didn’t want Houston to think they were coming up to 1 for Young. Especially since the deal took a while to come together. So out of fear of Houston moving to 1 and Chicago trying to trade back twice, Carolina convinced everyone Stroud was who they wanted
  2. I guess won’t be able to make another 1st round bet with you this year
  3. I’m taking IQ over traits every time Physical tools can only carry you so far and for so long 75 - 25 is about right
  4. I could live with passing on Stroud in favor of Bryce Bryce has been the consensus QB1 for 2 years and it hasn’t even been close. This happens every year when draft season ramps up. I personally think Bryce is too smart, accurate and good under pressure to flat out bust
  5. With the FO having done their QB evaluations prior to Reich and his staff arriving I’d assume they (the FO portion of this equation) moved up with the intention of taking Bryce. Peter King mentioned yesterday that McCown really liked Young as well. I still believe Vegas knows best and the odds are so in favor of Stroud that I have a hard time believing we end up with Bryce. It would have to be Reich that’s really driving the Stroud bus but King mentioned yesterday that Reich would go whichever way the majority did… So I dunno
  6. https://www.bleachernation.com/nfl/2023/02/25/one-test-hints-this-qb-class-is-exceptional-packers-coaches-skipping-the-combine-and-other-nfl-bullets/ It’s been known for a while
  7. This game has an example of literally everything in terms of strengths and weaknesses in Stroud’s game
  8. I was going to make that same comment a few days ago. Sometimes it looks like he’s legitimately afraid of contact
  9. It’s simple, they’re using up all that cap space they have/had next year. All these contracts are structured with big hits next year. It would be nice if we signed an edge rusher and rolled whatever left we had over after rookies, etc
  10. That just answered every question I had about Stroud that you can’t see from just watching his games. Annnnnnd just like that my preference has now shifted back to Stroud
  11. From a few days ago but this is the first time I’m seeing this quote
  12. After hearing him speak at the combine I’m not surprised one bit
  13. If we do choose CJ I’m going to assume he impressed with his board work/football IQ because there is no way you pass on someone with Young’s understanding of the game for someone who’s far behind in that area
  14. I saw they brought Anderson in for a visit. I have this weird feeling that if we do take Young they might take Anderson. They could also trade back but at some point they’re going to need actual players and not just a bunch of draft picks
  15. It was either Reich or Fitterer who mentioned having a QB that’s able to set protections at the line. Young does that which is super rare for a college QB. Again if they’re neck and neck there are things that favor Stroud. Obviously his size but he also throws a better deep ball and in Reich’s system that may count for a lot
  16. I assume he didn’t throw because he was full of water and felt like garbage
  17. An aggressive Kirk Cousins would be a really good QB Instead he’ll forever be check down Kirk which is why he’ll never win a SB. If Stroud can be an aggressive version of Kirk, that honestly wouldn’t be so bad
  18. He showed it once throughout an entire game during his 2 seasons worth of games I said early on his athleticism is slept on BUT he doesn’t consistently use it. Instead his footwork gets sloppy and he has a habit of drifting away when throwing under pressure
