This whole topic based off the premise is wrong.. A 2nd round pick is a 2nd round pick.. Most teams don't have a 1st round grade on 32 players anyway let alone the next 5 picks after that... What makes this topic even funnier is some of the ppl trying to make this a issue have no problem trashing the 2nd round/"1st rounders" already on the team... I don't see you crying this bad for being ready to give up on Funchess, Djax, and Little or how valuable really "1st rounders" they are....lol

At no point was Teddy considered the prospect Darnold was coming out of college.. You need to add context when trying to make a analogy.. Teddy was a end of the 1st round pick giving a opportunity here by a fired GM taking a swing trying anything to save his job.....Darnold is 4 years younger doesn't have the major injury history and was a top 5 prospect... This is a new GM and a HC both agreeing on this move neither in danger of losing their jobs.....

I'm going to put this out there.. I think you guys maybe more enamoured with these QBS not name Lawrance and Wilson then the team is.. I also think that after the 49ers trade they can see the writing on the wall 1st 5 picks will probably be 4 QBS gone.. And then your sweating 3 picks hoping nobody jumps up for the 5th QB in this draft you might not be gaga about.. I'd rather be in the position we're in now with the opportunity to get either one of the best OT's or CB's or great player at another position instead of the 5th best QB in the draft..

That's where we differ... You are willing to gamble that the 5 best QB in this draft drops to us.. I'd rather take the calculated risk that if we believe in our coaching we can make the best talent in a draft a few years ago better.. While building the rest of the team and keeping our assets..

I don't know what the 49ers acquired but they are a better team and don't need much of the assets giving up to find out... If we had the 49ers team then I could see that move being smart but we don't... We get a ? at QB and lose major assets the next few season to build around him.. How is that smart??
