  2. Chiefs Hosted OT Byron Bell For A Try Out Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that former Panthers OT Byron Bell tried out for the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the first reported interest in Bell since free agency got under way close to a month ago. Bell, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico back in 2011. He finished out his rookie contract before receiving a second-round tender from the Panthers worth $2.187 million last year. In 2014, Bell appeared in 15 games for the Panthers and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 83 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players. ...ouch. But hopefully they sign him soon so he can factor in to next years comp picks as a positive for us.
  3. A quick thought on leadership. You can't have too many good leaders. There is no confusion. It's not one guy or the other. 20 years in the army has taught me one thing if nothing else. Good leadership is invaluable. There is no confusion when you have multiple good leaders.
  4. I love the LeBatard show and that interview with Tillman was great. Didn't know his dad was 20 yrs Army. I'm a big fan.
  5. Saw somewhere else that it's the Dolphins.
  6. I think Kelly is a good coach. Not sure about his leadership skills though. I think Shady is a good player who felt disrespected and got his feelings hurt. That's human and understandable. When we say the NFL is a business, we are saying that there is a level to which the players are treated like meat or objects. Coaches get treated that way eventually too. And there isn't anything wrong with that inherently. It is a business and the players (and coaches) are the commodity. Regardless of the compensation (millions), people are still human and want to be respected. We talk about the atmosphere in the Panthers locker room. The family environment. The comraderie. That is created by human beings and it is part of the success of an organization. It's not the only part but it is part. So I don't think either player or coach are wrong in how they feel. It's an emotional event for Shady. He grew up in PA. Played ball at Pitt and then the Eagles. His life changed in a 30 minute phone call to Buffalo. It's understandable that he would be upset. He's getting over it. And Chip did what he felt was best. Are they both egotistical? Of course. Are either a bad guy? I doubt it.
  7. The Panthers signed LB Jason Trusnik to a one-year, $950,000 contract that includes a signing bonus of $80,000 and a $870,000 base salary. (Aaron Wilson)
  8. Panthers The Panthers recently worked out ECU WR Justin Hardy. (Bill Voth)
  9. Bengals Signing WR Denarius Moore To A One-Year Deal http://nfltraderumors.co/bengals-signing-wr-denarius-moore-to-a-one-year-deal/ ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Bengals are signing former Raiders WR Denarius Moore to a one-year contract. Moore previously met with the Jets a few weeks ago before visiting withe Bengals on Thursday of last week. Cincinnati also re-signed WR Brandon Tate, so they have clearly been focused on adding some depth at receiver before this year’s draft. Moore, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. He’s played his four-year, $2,230,052 rookie contract that included just $190,052 guaranteed and was among the best available receivers in free agency. In 2014, Moore appeared in 10 games and caught 12 passes for 115 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 237 total snaps last year to go along with a poor rating as a receiver.
  10. I would love Greene in the 3rd. Doubtful he would be there at #82 or whatever our pick is. I think he could be a strong #2 for us. Maybe not on day 1 but would be the number 2 WR by mid season, in my never to be humble opinion.
  11. Updated Cap space as of this morning: http://nfltraderumors.co/nfl-cap-space-1/ 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers $24,343,468 8. Atlanta Falcons $17,925,200 21. Carolina Panthers $10,111,139 29. New Orleans Saints $4,689,806 And for context: 1. Jacksonville Jaguars $35,095,883 32. Dallas Cowboys $2,090,944
  12. Just wow. But with Winston that offense is dangerous. Not sure Derek Anderson could go 2-0 vs them this year.
  13. Buccaneers Trade S Dashon Goldson To Redskins
  14. Saints Sign G Jahri Evans To A One-Year Extension
  15. The Vikings signed signed S Taylor Mays to a one-year deal worth $795,000. (Aaron Wilson) I would've liked to sign him but that's just me.
  16. Todd Gurley Georgia RB Todd Gurley says that he remains on his schedule in his return from a torn ACL and has begun running, back-pedaling, and jumping. (Alex Marvez) According to Gurley, he’ll end up meeting with 11 to 12 teams in the coming weeks and has a medical recheck on his knee set for April 17. (Alex Marvez) Draft LSU DE/OLB Danielle Hunter mentioned that he has pre-draft visits scheduled with the Panthers, Cowboys, Eagles, Browns and Titans. (Alex Marvez)
  17. Yeah I was thinking a flyer in the 7th or snap him up as a UDFA before anyone else can.
  18. Just looked him up on Wikipedia. He's 84 years old. Couldn't find many stats on him. Oh and he changed his name too. I guess he thought Buck Henry didn't sound like an NFL name. Who knew?
  19. As for Buck Allen...wasn't he on Saturday Night Live in the 80s? Kinda surprised he's in the draft. He's gotta be around 70 or so. But hey, good for him.
  20. I thought Duke has been a stud the whole time he's been at Miami and he's gotten stronger as time went on. He's fast. Don't know his combine numbers but don't care. He's good for a highlight a game with the d chasing him. I can't really remember him passing catching much. But again QB play at The U not so much. He's a hard runner who could cut and go or bowl over. From what I remember anyways. And I'm no scout either. I just liked what I saw.
