One nice thing about the late start is Charlotte is going to know exactly where they’ll stand in the next 20 minutes pending results from other games.

As I say this another strike was just detected at 7.79 miles away. So that pushes the start time back to around 10:30PM or so I would think. I’m thinking if there’s another strike then this one will be postponed. You hardly ever see the MLS postpone a game but I think rule of thumb is they like to have the games finished by 1AM at the latest. A 10:30PM start time is about as late as they could go.

You’ll get a nice little storm when the games on. Haven’t seen a lighting strike detected in the past 15 minutes so if all holds clear maybe a 10:15PM start with the game ending right around 12:30AM

Looks like they’ll be in the clear soon. Most recent lightning strike was 6.45 miles away from Charlotte, they use an 8 mile radius for player safety so we are nearly there.

Interesting, looks like it’s still coming down at the stadium but the nasty stuff looks to be clearing the area. I think we should be good by 10:00PM.

Yeah, most experts lauded Corral for his improved decision making from 2020 to 2021. Overall it’s just looking like it’ll come down to if he can read an NFL defense quick enough… something that Sam Darnold doesn’t appear to be able to do.

Kid can sling it and looks to have all the typical tools you want in your QB, if he can learn to read NFL defenses at a high level then he could be special.

Still delayed… I get fans are upset because they are stuck at the stadium but the MLS does not like to postpone matches unless they have to. Unless the radar pushes this game back to a start time of 10:30 or later, I’d expect the game to take place.

Rightfully so, but it’s the only thing we can go off of right now except their previous year’s performance, both of which were poor.

He’s definitely looked good in drills by all reports, less so in actual gameplay… but he’s got a good skillset to work with. Unfortunately for him, he’s just got too many guys in front of him and for better or worse Rhule appears deadest on hitching his wagon to one of those guys. It would be fantastic and somewhat interesting if Corral had a solid preseason and was able to lead the offense on a few TD drives while not committing any turnovers. Maybe that could spice things up if Mayfield and Darnold falter.

So here’s where we are. Looking at the radar, it looks like everything will switch over to rain at around 9:30.

If that’s the case then I can guarantee you that there will not be clear eyes and full hearts… more like weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

Orlando City recently had a game against Inter Miami that didn’t start until around 9:45PM due to a weather delay. No intel here but I suspect if they can’t start tonight’s game by 10:00PM then it’ll be postponed.

Shouldn’t be blacked out unless you are in one of the restricted areas in NC, in that case it should come on a local channel. With that said, we are in a lengthy delay with no end in sight yet.

I mean all the reports to this point are indicating that he’s taking a lot of check downs. I’m not writing him off and I want to see all the QB’s compete but Sam really has to show that he can stretch the field this year along with making the correct reads and a having a good pocket presence. I get it’s tough to do that in training camp but for better or worse Baker is at least showing the willingness to sling the ball around (sometimes finding the defense mind you). I think the preseason games will be the best gauge of where all the QB’s are as there is only so much you can tell from running 7 on 7’s.

Wouldn’t totally shock me to see him have a good year, Nagy was that bad of a coach.

In todays news, Jets coach, Robert Saleh, expressed his concerns with the Guardian Caps because he believes it’s leading to more players using their helmets since the blow is being softened. He has concerns once the caps are taken off as he believes players may continue to use their helmets out of habit and ultimately end up with an injury. In other news… - Josh Allen and Jordan Phillips got into at the Bill’s camp, don’t think Allen would win that one. - Former Panther, James Bradberry, is standing out at Eagles camp, apparently he locked up A.J. Brown today. - The Falcons had multiple fights at practice today and Arthur Smith had to get in there to break it up.
