Looks like Jesper Sellgren is leaving the Wolves and headed back to Sweden.

Jalen Crutcher is probably the only true point guard on the roster.

Yeah, it doesn’t have to be Hayward, it can be Rozier as well. Essentially any sort of combination of salaries that gets us in the $20M to $25M range, if you couple that with say $5M of cap space then you can offer a $30M contract to someone (at this point only Ayton is left). The problem is teams are probably going to want Bouknight, Jones, and picks to take on these contracts.

Me and you had the same idea and it’s pretty damn funny how quickly that trade bit them in the ass.

So essentially the only way for the Hornets to add anyone (like Ayton) is to trade Hayward to a team with a ton of cap space (Indiana) and attach picks and young players. Or do a sign and trade which would also require picks and players… this organization man… unfortunately New Orleans already has a team or else I’d drive the Hornets to the fugging airport myself.

Sure would have been nice to have A.J. Griffin right now instead of those four second rounders.

Wanted to see where we were cap wise with our current roster, taking Bridges off and assuming we rescind his offer for obvious reasons. G - Ball G - Rozier, Martin, Bouknight F - Hayward, Oubre F - Washington, McDaniels, Thor, Jones C - Plumlee, Williams, Richards Two Way - McGowens (won’t count against the cap) RFA’s (expecting back) - Martin RFA’s (not expecting back) - Bridges, Lewis, Kubolka UFA’s (expecting back) - None UFA’s (not expecting back) - Harrell, Thomas This leaves two roster spots (and one two way spot - does not count against the cap) with around $7M in cap space. Unfortunately, the only way to add a big piece is going to be through a sign and trade. Additionally, I’m expecting us to use the MLE on Kemba when he becomes available. If the Hornets don’t do a sign and trade then they’d have all of $2M in cap space to fill out their roster. The Hornets can open up around an additional $3M in cap space by waving McDaniels and Richards but it’s unlikely that would happen. They have to make a decision on Richards by next weekend and McDaniels by early August.

NBA finally released a statement… gathering information, etc… same as the Hornets.

Not only that but they don’t seem to have a clue as to how to react.

And Nurkic is back to the Blazers… it’s Ayton or bust.

Well… didn’t realize that Simons was back with the Blazers and that Lavine just signed a max. So I’m down to Ayton, Schroder, Warren, and Nurkic.. Also, can’t wait until we inevitably bring back Kemba as a way to distract everyone from the Bridges poo.

No idea if we’ll do anything. Obviously I’d love to add one of the big names like Ayton or Lavine. Also interested in Dennis Schroder, Anfernee Simons, T.J. Warren, and Jusuf Nurkic.

Bottom tier or not, how many CB’s can play 95 coverage snaps and only allow one catch?

Horn for me. It’s a small sample size, but in 95 coverage snaps he only allowed one catch last year, albeit for a touchdown. The national media and opposing teams fanbases don’t seem to recognize how good Horn was when he was on the field.

Why the Hornets would post anything on social media right now is beyond me, the comments are as expected.

Looks like the Timberwolves are interested in Cody Martin.

A while back it was said that we might have interest in Kevon Looney. Personally, I hope not. This team doesn’t need anymore mediocre big men.

Take Payton off the list, he got a pretty good contract with the Blazers.

Hopefully the Hornets do something about this today. If someone wants to give him a second chance then fine, but it sure as hell shouldn’t be us.

Hornets don’t need to wait on this, rescind the QO and a get to work. Go after a big fish like Ayton or Lavine or see if you can add a couple of decent pieces like Bamba and Simons.

Marc Stein reporting that we might be interest in Gary Payton. If we Cody Martin goes elsewhere then Payton would be a good pickup.
