They are probably in the draft room giggling about how much money they saved giving away the 13th pick.
-
Boone says otherwise, 45 and one of the seconds we received from NY for McGowens.
-
Looks like the Hornets are keeping 45 and sending two future second round picks.
-
Have no idea who Bryce McGowens is but his efficiency is horrible.
-
Would be happy with any one of Kennedy Chandler, Alondes Williams, Dereon Seabron, Trevor Keels, or Brady Manek with our second round pick.
-
Just showing how was sent to New York and then flipped to Detroit. More of a timeline not a multi team breakdown
-
I will say that Mark Williams seems to shoot the ball better than what people think.
-
My only thought is that the Hornets will more than likely convey the pick that they traded to New York for Kai Jones next year and they wanted to make sure they had a pick in next years draft. If they would have acquired Washington’s or Detroit’s pick that New York received when they traded Dieng to OKC then they’d more than likely be without a first round pick next year as both of those picks are lottery protected. The Denver pick that we did receive from New York (via OKC) is also lottery protected but that doesn’t matter, it’ll be in the 20’s.
-
That’s correct and Denver’s pick is lottery protected.
-
So a timeline of how the trade works. OKC Receives - Ousmane Dieng (from New York - 11th pick in 2022) New York Receives - 3 first round picks in 2023 (from OKC - one of these is the Denver pick) Charlotte Receives - The first round pick from New York that belongs to Denver that was acquired from OKC along with four second round picks (from New York) New York Receives - Jalen Duren (from Charlotte - 13th pick) Detroite Receives - Kemba Walker and Jalen Duren (from New York) New York Receives - 2025 first round pick from Detroit that belongs to Milwaukee (from Detroit)
-
So essentially it went down like this… Then New York flipped the Denver pick and four second rounders to us for Duren. Then New York took Duren and shipped him along with Kemba Walker to Detroit in what looks to be a salary dump move.
-
For reference, Denver is picking 21st this year. I suspect it’ll be around the same next year.
-
No idea what the fug is going on.
-
So essentially they don’t want too many rookies and are fine with trading a lottery pick for a future pick that will sure to be worse than their current pick along with acquiring some picks for the Greensboro Swarm… like they couldn’t even get a vet player out of the deal? They couldn’t attach Hayward to the deal to offload his salary? They are just giving away picks now…

It’s time we start questioning Mitch. The team is not moving forward. If he’s being given an internal budget and they are being cheap for the hell of it then he needs to blow the roof off because it’s ridiculous how long this team has been average at absolute best. The fanbase deserves answers.
-
We just traded the 13th pick for what will amount to number 25 in 2025. This team is mired in mediocracy.
-
Uhhh wtf

-
Lol Shams is saying New York… wtf is going on.
-
Hayward gone?
-
Find out who is going to sit on Steve Clifford’s bench for the next three years, more at 11.
-
I don’t know if can continue to watch if this happens.
-
Also one thing to note, Drury is only seven points away from the most points by a rookie in AHL Playoff history. He’ll probably come up just short but man has the kid sure been fun.

Cole did fine for what we asked him to do (hold down the third pairing and block shots) but man alive did he take some bad penalties. It’s time to see what Chatfield can do in that role. I’d personally like to see: Slavin - TDA FA/Trade - Pesce Skjei - Chatfield Keane
