  1. For sure, he probably has more drops than any NFL QB but even with the drops it’s still not great. Read number four of this article - https://www.si.com/nfl/giants/big-blue-plus/5-areas-where-daniel-jones-must-improve-in-2021 So if Jones was at 55% when hitting on targets and that doesn’t factor in drops then maybe he gets boosted to 60% which is still ass. If Pickett is Jones then I want none of him.
  2. Maybe out of college but everyone raves about Jones improved arm strength (https://giantswire.usatoday.com/2020/08/24/new-york-giants-jerry-schuplinski-daniel-jones-arm-strength-eye-opening/). And no, Daniel Jones has never and will never be accurate. His career completion % at Duke was 59% (read number 4 - https://www.si.com/nfl/giants/big-blue-plus/5-areas-where-daniel-jones-must-improve-in-2021)
  3. Don’t think that’s it, Daniel Jones has a cannon and his accuracy is also poo.
  4. Personal opinion but I think scouts think they can make Pickett into a mobile Matt Ryan. Like I said, he goes through his progressions well. If a team can focus on getting him to read defenses correctly then you’ve checked a box. Additionally, if the accuracy from last year is what we can expect from Pickett in the future then you have a 68% completion percentage on your hand which is elite. Bridgewater could be a good comparison but the thing that could make him a mobile Matt Ryan is that Pickett has much better velocity than Bridgewater and the touch he puts on passes is pretty damn good. I think worst case scenario is Andy Dalton, the most likely scenario is probably Teddy Bridgewater (with more ball velocity) or Chad Pennington (a mobile version), and the best case scenario is a mobile Matt Ryan (if everything work out). In order for Pickett to be a franchise QB he’ll need to read the defenses correctly, not just go through his progressions (I’m not worried about this), have elite accuracy to make up for his arm strength (I’m worried about this), and stop turning the ball over so much (I’m worried about this).
  5. No argument there, his deep ball is not great. Which is why I prefer Willis. I think in today’s NFL you have to be elite at stretching the field. Only a handful of QB’s are still left that don’t have the elite ability to stretch the field, the main one being Brady. But with Brady, his intermediate accuracy is so elite that it makes up for it. The weaker armed QB’s are starting to go extinct.
  6. Reading the defense is different than going through your progressions. You can go through your progressions but read the defense wrong and additionally we don’t know how Pitt was asking Pickett to read defenses. In my opinion, Pickett still reads the defenses incorrectly at times but JT O’Sullivan even mentioned in his analysis that Pittsburgh might only be asking him to read the right side of the field as a lot of Pittsburgh’s routes have a circus out route built into the right side of the field. I think that is on coaching more than it’s on Pickett. What’s important for me is that Pickett can scan the field and doesn’t lock on to receivers. If the Panthers draft him I’m sure they will have given him a copy of a few plays and asked him to read them based off of how the defense is lined up. If they feel comfortable with it then I guess they’ll take him. For me, it’s the accuracy, he’s only had one year where he was an above average passer when it comes to accuracy. If you take away last year then Willis actually has a better completion percentage and he also throws a better deep ball (Picketts arm strength leaves a lot to be desired). That’s why I prefer Willis. The fumbles are also a huge issue with Pickett.
  7. As others have said this just isn’t true. I prefer Willis over Pickett but Pickett is being mocked high because he goes through his progressions better than any QB in this class.
  8. Love was drafted purely based off of his Sophomore season in college, his junior year he was absolute poo. At least with Pickett you have someone who is playing the best football of his life right now and with Willis you have a guy who while he isn’t putting up ridiculous numbers they are consistently good numbers. The Packers stupidly drafted Love thinking they could turn him into something, let them figure him out.
  9. Minshew has at least shown the ability to be a starting NFL QB. Even his numbers in Jax were solid but Jax’s defense was so bad that Minshew never had a chance.
  10. Yeah I don’t buy this at all… if Rhule is going to hitch his wagon to an inexperienced QB it’ll be Pickett… not Jordan Love. Lock this thread up.
  11. I might have to get me a black Bender jersey. The MLS Draft has one of the worst success rates out of all the major sports because most elite players have already joined academy teams and are tied to a team (whether domestic or foreign). Basically the MLS Draft is a crap shoot. For example, Austin FC selected Danny Pereira first overall in 2021. I actually had the privilege of coaching against Pereira a few years ago during his HS career. He is a very good player and had a solid career at Virginia Tech. However, his skill didn’t translate to immediate success in the MLS as he recorded one single assist in 25 games last year. Our boy Bender has a goal and two assists through his first four games. He’s a gamer.
  12. LOLOL Melo out here dropping f bombs on national tv.
  13. What a win tonight against the defending Supporters Shield winners! Final: Charlotte FC 3 - New England Revolution 1 6’ - Franco to Swiderski 57’ - Bender to Swiderski 64’ - Alcivar to Bender
  14. Anton Walkes making his debut, coming in for Swiderski.
  15. Bender might end up being the face of this league at some point. 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 games thus far.
  16. Derrick Jones on for Alcivar and Armour on for Bender. Defensive reinforcements on to see this one through.
  17. What a game tonight! Charlotte up 3-1 in the 70th 6’ - Franco to Swiderski 57’ - Bender to Swiderski 64’ - Alcivar to Bender
