  1. Hell, I look at him in a better light because of college. His postseason record isn’t great but at least he’s built Michigan into a defensive powerhouse (excluding the TCU game). I still have a lot of concerns about his offensive coaching philosophy though. When the 49ers were going through a lot of their issues, Rapoport reported that a lot of the dysfunction had to do with an offense that was led by an offensive coach, had 10 coaches dedicated to the offensive side of the ball, yet was 19th in scoring.
  2. I’m not sold on Harbaugh, there’s numerous questions surrounding his overall ability to work well with others (among other things). When Harbaugh moved on from the 49ers it was reported by Business Insider that he had a horrible relationship with San Francisco’s front office and then Rapoport and Deion Sanders reported that a lot of of the veteran players on the 49ers had issues with Harbaugh. Then you get into the fact that the guy just can’t seem the finish (yes, I know I sound like Steve Wilks). He’s gone 2-7 in bowl games and couldn’t bring a Super Bowl to San Francisco despite compiling a record of 44-19-1. Finally, you have the pure coaching aspect, he’s supposed to be an offensive coach, so make these numbers make sense. San Francisco’s Total Offense Rankings During Harbaugh’s Tenure 2011 - 26th 2012 - 11th 2013 - 24th 2014 - 20th So what exactly are you getting with Harbaugh? An offensive coach that can’t… coach offense?
  3. 100%, I had to get it when I was coaching HS, luckily I’ve never had to use it but I have been around when it needed to be administered (like yours, it was at a work setting).
  4. It is if you spent money on an Alex Semin sweater… FML.
  5. Hopefully the first responders were able to minimize as much damage as possible by administering CPR fairly quickly. I also think it’s important that if you are able, take the time to become CPR certified. It’s not a difficult process and can save lives. You pray you never need to administer it but if you ever have to, you are glad you learned how to.
  6. Mitchell can take the time to make a nice gesture after dropping 71 points in a game but all Skip can think about is football, some people don’t have their heads screwed on right.
  7. That’s a great question, I couldn’t find any info on that, apparently he was targeting a return date at the end of October. That return never came, then the World Cup happened, and Burnley has since played a few matches in December that Westwood did not feature in. He’ll have to pass a physical so I imagine he’ll be ready to go by the start of the MLS season.
  8. Hoping that those nine minutes that the first responders administered CPR and used the AED saved this young man’s life.
  9. Also feel horrible for Tee Higgins, it goes without saying that it was a freak accident, but it’s something that could affect Higgins for life. Just a terrible situation all around.
  10. I can’t imagine what his family is going through, I can’t imagine as a mom or dad, watching your son or daughter go through this… all while millions of people are watching.
  11. Agreed, I saw it happen first hand in HS a long time ago and the player died, unfortunately back then, defibrillators weren’t kept at HS venues.
  12. No way in hell you continue this game, if they do, then fug the money hungry NFL.
  13. It’s gotten a lot better, I feel like youth organizations finally started doing something about the issue. Unfortunately when I was playing ball it was when no HS venues carried defibrillators.
  14. Yeah, after rewatching, it looks like commotio cordis, if I’m not mistaken, the only way to save the individual is to to use a defibrillator, but commotio cordis only has a 15% survival rate (mainly due to the lack of defibs available).
  15. No inside info or anything but this could be one of the very rare instances where a player gets hit in between heart beats. Back in my high school days, we were playing a team and one of the players on the opposing team made a tackle but the offensive players helmet hit him right in the heart in between heart beats, unfortunately the player passed away. It’s much more common in baseball when the baseball hits a player in between heart beats but it can happen in football. Hope Hamlin is okay.
  16. Per Pierre LeBrun, Pacioretty, who has yet to suit up for the Canes, has fallen in love with the city and the team and wants to sign an extension with Carolina.
  17. Fugging Boston man, I’d love to end their season again.
  18. Speaking of legacy children, I wish the organization would have drafted Skyler Brind’Amour, instead Edmonton drafted him in the sixth round. Skyler is having a pretty good year at Quinnipiac.
  19. From a pure contract perspective, Kochetkov is probably about as safe as you can go with a jersey (outside of Svechnikov) since he just signed for four more years. Slavin is another good option. I will say, if you can only get one sweater, I’d be tempted to wait until they release the Stadium Series sweaters.
