  1. We would need someone like Ben Johnson who was our #1 target for HC this year. He would establish a strong run game and innovate pass game. But he already said no this year…
  2. It’s a good article about eight or so young QBs they do every week. Weird to come and post and not even read it.
  3. The question is if they are balking at the idea of paying two WRs or if it is paying overall, even if it is another position?
  4. This is always a good read. Includes the good and the bad and overall grades: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/grading-nfls-next-generation-of-qbs-week-4-huge-bounce-back-from-sam-howell-bryce-young-flops-again/
  5. Higgins feels like the only realistic ish option. Bengals won’t resign him next year and they stink this year. But would they swap him for Burns or not? I wouldn’t use any of our picks.
  6. Kind off. The fact that every opposing defense also knows we aren’t throwing the ball more than 5 yards makes it easy to apply pressure without any risk. So while the o-line is bad, it is exacerbated by the play calling.
  7. We just need to open things up, I don’t care if he throws 20 ints, just go for it and let him learn. This conservative, limit the mistakes kind of offense is just terrible.
  8. And that’s why our excuses for o-line injuries carry no weight, everyone is able to adapt and coach around it, why can’t we? I mean we know why, but you get the point.
  9. A good friend of mine lives in Indy and he warned me about Reich, and everything he said is unfortunately coming true.
  10. Our defense is playing really well, down 3 CBs and Jamieson is looking capable, Robinson is looking good at S, Gross-Matos is looking great etc. Rookies and former rejects holding Cousins to his lowest total in years. Why? Because of good coaching. I was all for Reich, and I was soooo wrong. He is the main weakness on offense. Sure o-line is struggling etc. but it all comes back to him. Chuba starts the game hot, Frank puts him on the bench. Brady Quinn begging for the Panthers to take a shot down the field for three quarters, “won’t happen” says Frank. Setting up 3rd and longs constantly with inept play calling. A good coach can scheme around weaknesses, and Frank cannot. If he insists on continuing to call the plays, I would fire him on the spot, and I don’t say that lightly. It is not Bryce, it is not Ickey, it is how they are used. And that is all Frank.
  11. Corbett back will make life a lot easier for Bose. He would only have to worry about LG instead of both guards. I like Zavala long term at LG, but I think it will be rough for some time yet.
  12. And I was concerned before the season that Bucs would finish last and get a great QB at the top of the draft
  13. After Ben Johnson decided to stay with the Lions I was all in on Reich. Doesn’t look too good right now. He needs to be the CEO and let his all star (?) staff do their thing.
  14. Good for him, seems like a good guy.
  15. I feel the same way. It is a shame Bryce isn’t playing, this is by far the worst defense we’ve played so far. I’ll record it and watch it later, looks like nice hiking weather this Sunday.
  16. But what if he sprains his ankle, sit out a game or two, and Brown takes over?
  17. Oh I agree 100%. I just added that I think Purdy looks bad.
  18. Yeah he did not look good the first two drives. That great run game helps a lot.
  19. If it is not that severe I can see it happening. Once the adrenaline is gone and you take your shoe off, it really hits home. My guess is that maybe he could have played if it was a playoff game, but the prudent decision is to rest him for a week.
  20. I think it might be time to slow down the arguing on this one, it is ok to embrace the role of the contrarian, but it has turned in to something close to spamming at this point.
  21. A couple of things can be true: - All the talk about Bryce’s super ability to process etc. didn’t account for time to acclimate to the NFL, and set up unreasonable expectations. - However, Bryce’s start has been disappointing, no matter the circumstances. If you say you aren’t a bit disappointed you are not being honest. - Stroud and Richardson has had way more wow plays and produced more than Young. - However, early rookie year production and long term success has little correlation, hence it is way too early to draw any conclusions. So it is ok if people don’t panic, but if you want to, go ahead. - We will improve our WRs next year, you just can’t do it all in year one. Just like all other teams drafting QBs high. But yes, underwhelming start to the season without a doubt.
  22. I didn’t expect miracles, but the offense has been brutal so far, there is no way around that. It is hard to watch at this point. Hopefully we’ll work through it, getting Corbett back will make a world of difference in week 5.
