  1. let's not underrate the fact that Dj has constantly put up numbers while enduring piss-poor QB play, AND 3 other players had > 1000 yards last year. He was NOT force fed the ball.
  2. IF we trade back, I hope it's to grab a teir 2 LT ( Radunz, Cosmi, Mayfield, Leatherwood, etc.) and then double down with a G/C with the extra pick.
  3. Moderator, plz move this thread to the tits and ass forum.
  4. massive difference in position value. a good LT is just better than a great WR. I gotta side with Agent Blue on this one. I think WR is a luxury pick for us this year. We already have a great WR in DJ, a pretty fugging good WR in Anderson, and picked up a "not too shabby" TD machine in David Moore, 6 TD's and 18 1st downs on 35 catches last year. Granted, there's a good chance we lose either DJ or Anderson next year due to both being up for a pay day, but that's next year's problem.
  5. This was apparent to me as well. We're all hoping it's a loooong time before we pick top 10 again, and they wanted to take advantage. Plus Fitterer wants to hit big on his first draft. he's looking to come out of day 2 with 3 instant starters, and there's a good chance to pull it off. I think LT and CB are no brainers, but we could also get a starter at TE, WR, or DL on day 2. I left IOL off the list (even though it's very possible to get a really good G, or even a C here) because of all the offseason moves here. First we re-signed Miller, who was pretty good last year. We also immediately grabbed Elfin and Erving in FA. Both can play across the line. We also picked up Ivey, who will likely play G, if he makes the team. I also noticed that Daley is officially on the roster as a G, IIRC, he was listed as T last season. While most of us are hoping that we absolutely draft a young stud IOL, we really don't have to at this point. As you pointed out, with the depth of this draft, a good G can be found in 4th, 5th, even 6th round. Our best in recent history was undrafted!
  6. Yep, and still work on a long term deal, obviously. FWIW, his 5th yr option would be $11.1M. https://overthecap.com/fifth-year-option-projections/
  7. Miami gives us #18, #36, and #156 for #8. That gives them 2 top 10 picks to surround Tua with playmakers, and they still have #50 in the 2nd. There will still be several LT's not named Slater or Sewell at #18 that can start day 1. We also get 2 day 1 starters at 36 and 39 (at least 1 of those in the secondary I hope). Everybody wins!
  8. He made that poor CB for the Giants look like a joke. I forget, who's #24?
  9. CB would be my 2nd favorite position, behind LT. Right now, starting across from jackson we have a quickly declining vet, or 2 2nd year guts the, at best, need some serious time to get up to speed. A true lock down corner would be a Godsend, IMO. Edit; I didn't say QB, because I think 4-5 will be gone already.
  10. Hopefully the visiting team has a similar set up so that we can boo them and pelt them with garbage. Home side "the Vault", visitor's side "The Gauntlet" .
  11. It's kind of a refreshing chance of pace, ain't it?
  12. Can't call him an upgrade before he's ever played a snap, plus Moton has been solid AF. But, he would save about crap ton of cash over the next few years.
  13. Little, Jenkins, Radunz, Leatherwood, Cosmi. These are all starting tackles that have a decent chance to be there at 39. Sure, I'd much prefer Slater or Sewell, but I won't bitch as long as a starting LT is found.
  14. Although he's mainly played RT, he CAN play LT. I've seen him projected at the end of round 1 or round 2, if he makes it to #39, I'd be happy to take him, even if we do get Sewell or Slater at 8. Ultimately, I think Moton is playing hardball and will get a big payday from someone else next year.
  15. I can get behind him. A hard, physical runner to beat the crap out of defenses. Looks like a decent pass catcher who needs to work on his blocking. You thinking 3rd or 4th rounds?
  16. The telling quote from this article, IMO, “I have never seen quarterbacks get pushed up in the draft the way they’re getting pushed up this year,” said one middle-aged coach whose team is in the market to draft a quarterback this year. “Trevor Lawrence deserves to be the number one pick, but after that, in my book, there’s three receivers, a tight end and two offensive tackles ahead of the next quarterback.
  17. I'm going to go with winning.
  18. Anderson made similar comments about how much he preferred the Panthers locker room environment, although, TBH, he was reunited with Rhule, whom he apparently loved playing for at Temple. Speaking of Anderson, his yardage went up by over 300 last season despite sharing the catches with 2 other WR's who got over 1000 yards.
  19. I think we go LT at #8 and Erving competes for starting LG. Scott actually was not a liability when he filled in at LT last year, so he may give Erving serious competition at LT backup. Paradis was much better last year than 2019, but he still wasn't great and is getting old, so I really hope we can hit on a center in this draft as well. If Elfein can get healthy (big IF), he could be Paradis' replacement in 2022.
  20. 2 questions in, and I passed out!
  21. I did not come away with that feeling AT ALL. He didn't specifically say it wasn't though.
  22. If/when we cut Teddy, we would actually save money this year. If the right QB falls to #8, we don't pick it up, and he has $0 guaranteed, and a QB battle going on in camp.
  23. They have NOT made a decision about Sam's 5th year option...interesting. I didn't think that it was official yet, but had seen several sites saying that they would.
