I’d feel a lot better if we had Tro and our proper lines in. -

I like reimer too. I think we should have started him Vs. Boston more last playoffs. But he is completely in a horrible headspace. -

Sidenote, been watching the Av's and Vegas. Colorado is no joke this year. Us and Them would be insanely fun hockey to watch. -

https://www.nhl.com/news/carolina-hurricanes-gm-team-could-trade-goalie-to-add-help-on-defense/c-322940856 "If the Hurricanes do trade one of their goalies, it could be for a right-shot defenseman. "We like our defense, but you know, after you get through our first two sets of pairs, we've got three lefties there," Waddell said. "They all play well, but they all would be better on their natural side. They're all left-hands who would be better on the left side. … So if we could add a right-hand-shot defenseman to complement them, I think that would be good.""

https://www.nhl.com/news/eric-staal-traded-to-canadiens-by-sabres/c-322946172?tid=278542340 "Eric Staal was traded to the Montreal Canadiens by the Buffalo Sabres on Friday for a third-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. Staal is in the final season of a two-year, $6.5 million contract ($3.25 million average annual value) he signed with the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 25, 2019 and can become an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Sabres will retain $1.625 million of the forward's salary."

Very true either way we got a huge chunk of contracts coming up. The irreplacibles more so next offseason but still. If he really wants to stay I’d hope he’d settle for 7 with a no trade clause. If that’s even possible. I think we can work with that. Anything north of 7.5 though shouldn’t even be considered.
-
Yep, letting him move on would be a huge boon to keeping the rest of the folks. It also depends on what happens with the expansion draft. Since we aren’t doing a deal before the end of the season Seattle could end up offering him what he wants or more since they get a window to negotiate with free agents before the draft we don’t.
-
I really hope they give Ned the start vs. TB Tomorrow... but throwing Mrazek back in there if he’s ready may be a much needed curve ball/focus tool for us. I feel like reimer is gone after this season either way. But Mrazek may get us more in the short term if we are playing him to a non-playoff/goalie lacking team for the future. Which is the feeling I got from Dons statement.

Reimer makes sense in the Anaheim scenario. I don’t see us moving anyone to TB, don’t want a disgruntled guy feeding them info, they’ve already cut their dead weight mostly in trades and as above expansion draft. As for Dougie we offered 6.5 and he wants 8.5 but really wants to stay here so I could see us talking him down to 7.5 maybe even 7 if we give him a no move clause(though don’t know how many of those you can have active on a team). Getting that cap space now may be crucial. i was all aboard the moving on from Dougie cause he costs too much before this whole streak but he’s really trying to prove why he deserves the money. The 2 way game is the key with him though.

Before I read the rest, and my counter point is Buffalo is apparently high in the mix for a goalie improvement. Both Mrazek and Reimer would be an upgrade however would either want to sign there after the season. Mrazek would be the longer term bet for them if he decides to stay and we could net ourselves cap space + a high prospect this draft in case *knock on wood* something goes wrong with an injury. Reimer would too but I don’t see us getting as much for him. If it’s a rental for this season heading into the playoffs yes totally agree with you.

49ers just traded to possibly get....Mac Jones
Harbingers replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
There is no way you trade that much to secure a QB that probably won’t go until the teens unless you know someone else wants to snipe him. -
True but if Lances only perceived issue is reading the defense enter Kyle Shannahan. I guess we don’t know what the Jets are going to do but no SF person at Wilson’s Pro Day even for due diligence is suspect. I guess it’s Wilson/Lance at 3 dependent on what 2 does but I suspect if the jets didn’t bite on a super trade like that they already know who they want.
-
Nah, i think you are spot on with Lance to SF. There is no way you give up that much capital without knowing you'll get your guy.
-
That makes complete sense and barring another monkey wrench it looks like 4QB’s + Sewell off the board in the top 5. Not sure who Miami + Detroit is targeting now either.
-
It’s basically Lance or Fields I think. With the other going at 4.

Holy poo. I feel like all these GMs are pre discussion who they are going to pick.
