The problem I've always had with Harbaugh is largely the same as with Urban Meyer. Harbaugh's "yell and scream at everyone about everything all the time" persona is way better suited to college kids than it is professionals. There was a load of talk that his act was already starting to wear thin in San Francisco before he was let go.

Final touchdown call... That Jaime Moreno's voice I hear?
-
If I recall correctly, he said he was going to take a year off.

If you ever read any of Jeff McLane's stories about the stuff that went on behind the scenes in Philly, you'd probably say Pederson getting the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory was damn near miraculous. He's not my top choice for a head coach, but Pederson is a hell of an offensive mind and he's worked under some of the best.

And all had one thing in common... Dumb decisions by ownership.

Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl ring.

It's a board filter that was instituted a while back. Personally, I think it's kind of overstayed its welcome but...

What is Tepper seeing that nobody else here sees?

He looks stupider if we hang on to him and keep losing. -
Kinda doubt they're regretting their decision right now.

Calling Switzer a success at the pro level is a stretch. His trophy came in one year with Jimmy Johnson's team and it was nothing but downhill from there.

Did the Panthers just retain Stephon Gilmore?
Mr. Scot replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn't bet on that having anything to do with a contract extension, honestly. -
My worry there is that Tomlin would probably want the same kind of power that Rhule has. I'm thinking we might be wise to get away from that setup.

Probably the latter For my part though, if I could tell him anything, it wouldn't be to listen to me or any other fan. It'd be to listen to football people who are smarter about the game than him. Just having him understand that there are an awful lot of people who fit that description would probably be a good start. -

There's a lot of things I'd like to tell him. -

Some folks don't understand the difference between intelligence and aptitude. I've got a friend who could take a computer apart and put it back together blindfolded in the dark with one arm tied behind his back. Suggest that he change the oil in his car himself through and watch his eyes glaze over. Making money in business isn't the same as understanding football. Assuming that just because someone has done one they can also easily do the other shows a lack of understanding. -
Well, if you insist

He's had some... interesting moments tonight

He relished being a villain too They say superhero movies depend on the quality of the villain. Likewise, I always thought the NFL was better when the Raiders were good.
-
My brother bet me money on that game because he thought I was too young to really understand football. Heh

Whenever someone invokes the old "billionaire equals smart" trope, it's a good time to remember that guys like Daniel Snyder and Woody Johnson are super rich too. -
Same. I watched him coach for several years.
-
There are still good options even if they do, especially at OL coach.

Not when it comes to football. He's actually at the opposite end of that spectrum. -
Andy Reid is in a coaching stratosphere that Matt Rhule can't even see, much less join.
