"Cash" got us Matt Rhule. And let's be real, every team has cash. I realize there are fans here who think David Tepper is some kind of mythic godfather figure or something, but he's really not. More to the point though, some of these guys are more driven by competitiveness and winning than greed and money. Hell, when we were hiring a GM, Ed Dodds from the Colts (one of the better candidates we had) took himself out of the running. And I doubt that was about money. More likely about having to answer to a college coach (smart man). But most of all, money doesn't make anyone smart. So what if you overpay when the guy you're overpaying is sh-t? How's that any different from where we are now? Again, if David Tepper is this kingfish who gets anything he wants, why is it that four years into his reign we're still losing?

The biggest worry from this was that other teams could jump ahead of us for the best candidates if we didn't move quickly. Granted that could still happen, but at least so far, nobody's "moving" at all (except seemingly Jacksonville).

It's not as hard as you might think. Just download the Panthers 2021 Media Guide and search for New York or NY (case matched). Teams can still fire coaches any time they want. Saw some speculation that the Vikings might wait until after they see this Sunday's result.

Possible, but also keep in mind there's a difference between when moves are made and when they're announced.

I see "going through all this again" as being inevitable because the only thing that would prevent it is Rhule turning things around and I just don't see that happening. The question then becomes "Would you rather get started sooner...or later?" I vote sooner.

Before I'd wanna boo somebody, I'd need a genuine reason to dislike them as a person rather than just as a player. With that said though, I'd give this message to any player who wants cheers from fans... Earn it.

Jags or Raiders? Granted, the Raiders was a unique situation, but an argument could be made that the Meyer's was too.

The sad truth is that Matt Rhule doesn't actually have to be good at his job in order to keep it. He just has to be able to fool David Tepper into thinking that he's good. And if we've learned anything from Marty Hurney, Ron Rivera and Rhule, it's that David Tepper can very easily be fooled.

The NFL week isn't officially over until after tonight. The interview window officially opens at 8am tomorrow morning
