  1. It's a good writeup. Appreciated a different take on Robby Anderson than I've heard previously.
  2. ...is returning. Folks might also remember a young fella named Sam Mills played in the original version.
  3. Thomas is still on a rookie contract, so he's not expensive. Since teams typically keep three tight ends, for him to not make the team would require three guys be better than him. Looking at our current roster (barring any changes) I think it's very possible that two guys will be. I'm not so sure about three.
  4. I used to do a roster spreadsheet to help familiarize myself with the players, but I had given up on it a while back. The return of Hurney had me feeling like it wasn't worth it. Finally doing that again this offseason...
  5. There's a certain school of thought that believes sometimes you can just let people know what you're doing and still do it because you're so damn good they won't be able to stop you. The vast majority of the time, that's not true. Unfortunately, Ron apparently believed it was.
  6. Why is it self help books always written by someone else?
  7. ESPN's Kim Jones has reported that two teams, the Ravens and the Rams, have dropped out of the bidding on Julio.
  8. I don't think they've specified that Chinn would be a strong safety. I know Person said a while back that they were planning on trying Chinn at free safety.
  9. As the old joke goes, "I don't have to be faster than the bear. I just have to be faster than you."
  10. Did you previously play tackle for the Texans? (like back during the David Carr years)
  11. The Eagles were were to take him before our pick (he was next up on their draft board) but Howie Roseman "went rogue" and took Jalen Hurts.
  12. Morrow is reported to be taking a reduced role. Joe Person described it as "a senior advisory role on the college scouting side". Despite his title (Executive Director of Player Personnel) Morrow was basically Director of College Scouting for the last few years. But the Panthers just gave that job and title to Washington scout Cole Spencer. In the NFL, moves like this frequently precede someone retiring. Makes me wonder if Morrow is going to spend a year helping Spencer get to know the scouting director job and then retire.
  13. Did you see that somewhere? If it was at the presser, I missed it.
  14. Side Note: Fitterer brought in a scout from his Seattle days. I'm not sure we had a national scout before.
  15. Rhule previously said if they could find two starting quality safeties, they'd continue to use Chinn the same way they did last year. I'm guessing so far, they're not feeling it. All that said, position designations these days don't mean as much as they used to
  16. The bigger problem we're referring to is that Rivera was basically kind of a chicken sh-t when it came to coaching Newton. Ron treated Can like he was too fragile to take hard coaching.
  17. I'm not sure who you're referring to
  18. Yeah, that's kind of how it's supposed to work. It's a good analogy. Reminds me of Bill Parcells "grocery shopping" comments.
  19. Maybe there's some hidden implication to the way he said "duh"
  20. I'm gonna agree with Basbear that Shula was actually good as a quarterback coach. He just wasn't suited to be an OC. Ron's talent evaluation skills weren't any better for coaches than they were for players.
  21. Well to be fair, Ken Dorsey looks like he's doing a damn good job with Josh Allen. Maybe if Rivera had supported him actually coaching instead of just being a buddy...
  22. I'd call it overblown speculation.
  23. DaQuan Jones wasn't there today either. And it's still all speculation.
