Believe it or not, I don't actually view the football discussions I have on here as a mission with an objective. It's literally just football talk. If you take it a little more seriously than I do, well...
-
I don't believe it will. I do however acknowledge that it could. That's not exactly a complicated position. Here's the fun part though: I could spend all of my time saying "yes it's going to happen" and talking up even the slightest possibility whenever someone mentions anything. Would you like to guess how much impact that would have on what ultimately does happen? I'll give you a hint...

They might not, but I definitely believe they're going to give it their damndest. Well, short of the obvious step of firing Jack Easterby. (that they value him enough to keep him in the middle of all this mess is just insane to me)

Knew you were We've got some folks who absolutely don't want to hear anything other than that what they want is gonna happen. And hey, maybe it will, but taking it as a guarantee is setting yourself up for disappointment.
-
Oh, good grief
-
I respect that, but some folks are using the loose details and beliefs you're talking about as if they were firm information. And this despite that you've also acknowledged Houston might not trade him.
-
Speaking of Voth, here's something else he said...
-
It helps to understand what people are saying...and what they're not.
-
This from our buddy Ellis...

He's also not available for trade. Heck, even Newton's bold prediction adds a qualifier of "if available". I don't doubt the Panthers could make an effort to get Watson. Nor do I question whether they should, though how much they should give up in that effort is definitely a subject for debate. But both Voth and Gantt have said that actually acquiring Watson would be extremely difficult, and neither seems inclined to believe it's likely to happen.
-
Also, for the record, the guy who started all this (a fantasy football analyst) has admitted he made a mistake and actually reached out to apologize to David Newton.
-
You guys are seriously reaching here.
-
From a few days ago, Voth (quoting Gantt)... Somehow, I don't see Watson becoming an "unexpected bargain". I get that people want to dream about getting a quarterback like Watson, and yeah, that'd be great. But sorry guys, this is just not something I think is gonna happen.

Draft Grades based on AV compared to expected AV
Mr. Scot replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
He definitely wasn't great at running the whole show, but Seifert did okay in the draft, especially in 2001 (ironically his final year). -
Well, this is funny. When even a site that's known for posting plenty of unsubstantiated rumors itself is rebuking people...
-
Sure it is
-
Yeah... I actually haven't commented on our cap space at all.
-
That's pretty funny coming from you

* Breaking *Panthers to trade for Deshaun Watson
Mr. Scot replied to Connorfalcon's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm pretty sure the only place you're "inside" is your mother's basement. -
You can feel however you want. I prefer to deal in reality myself.

Sports journalism, ladies and gentlemen. -
Over this? Not likely. There are some real world things regarding my lady and I purchasing a house that are actual headaches right now, but even those aren't to "stroke out" levels. (yet) Heck, talking football is an escape.
