    Might not be on much today because we've got work to do but I'll try to leave some observations. This, as I understand it, will be the "dress rehearsal" game but unlike in the past, the starters may not play a whole lot.

    A big part of it for me is the improvement of Young. He's miles ahead of where he used to be. Canales? I like him, but my judgment on how good a coach he can be is still pending.

    It didn't mean anything in those seasons either. Neither does the incompetence of prior coaching and personnel staffs mean anything to our current situation. The quarterback we saw at the end of last season was perfectly fine and has a shiny new weapon who looked just fine on Friday. It's too early to know anything.

    Cam Newton looked like refried horse sh-t in what was, at that time, the "dress rehearsal" game (preseason three) of his rookie season. Two weeks later, we were all thinking a decade of glory lay ahead of us.

    I expect that this time of year. Hell, a ref said their ruling had been "conformed"

    I've seen over fifty preseasons from various teams and can't think of a single time they were strongly predictive of anything. Heck, even the first few weeks of the season can be illusory.

    I wasn't a fan of retaining Evero but I guess Canales believes he can improve. We'll see

    I don't see how folks left this game without feeling excited after seeing Young and McMillan work.
