Not really. We know from various sources that the front office likes him, but they're not going to proceed without agreement from Reich. And Reich's not going to proceed until he's met with his staff. So no, the notion that we'd have moved sooner if we were really interested doesn't hold water.

You don't consider Ben McAdoo a quarterback guru? Seriously though, he does have a lightning release. With actual teachers, who knows?
-
Or maybe it's that, you know, he hasn't met with his staff to discuss what they want to do yet. You know, like he said

Coaching Staff: Final Pieces (as of 2-23-23)
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Understood. -
You have lost it, dude. You sound like a kid in a schoolyard.
-
Pretty much.
-
Yeah, this... ... wasn't personal at all
-
I'm not the one resorting to personal attacks, dude. That's the clearest sign you need to chill for a bit.

Wouldn't mind having House back. -
Bit late for that...
-
And getting highly emotional. Seriously dude, you need a break.
-
Apparently they're gonna try and keep him. Among the consequences...
-
Again, oy

They've equipped themselves pretty well to teach, but also to win if they get the roster right. I could see going either direction.

Frank Reich's and Jim Caldwell's interviews from today
Mr. Scot replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
One of my favorite bits from Caldwell... My first response probably would have been "Well, he's sober." -
I'm not the one about to pop a blood vessel. I'd add it's kinda hard to accuse someone of lying about you when they quote your own words.
-
Seriously dude, take a break.

PFF - What would it take for Panthers to trade up for #1 pick
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
And if you could, you'd be smart to ask why. -
I'm not gonna try to predict what they do, but Daniel Jeremiah actually predicted the same thing. In his latest mock, he has us taking a non-QB at pick 9 based on the notion that we sign a vet.

Finally got to watch Caldwell. Hadn't seen a lot of him in the past, but man the dude is a seriously great communicator. Loved what he had to say. -
Apparently you do given how emotional you're getting about this
-
Like when we faced him this past season?

Meanwhile, this tidbit regarding the Jets sales pitch...
-
Sure, dude.
