People also said Tepper would get Deshaun Watson if he wanted him. Not sure where people get this idea that Tepper is some kind of godfather like figure. He's proven to be nothing of the sort. Jones makes It sounds like Harbaugh's "representation" have been The ones doing all the calling, not Harbaugh himself. My guess would be they've been calling us primarily because we're one of the teams that already has an opening, not necessarily out of any affinity for the Panthers.

Denver isn't scared. Neither are the Colts (and the Dolphins might not be either, depending on what you believe). All that said, it sounds like the calls are coming from his people, not Harbaugh himself. And yeah, between his age and his personality, he might not be what Tepper is looking for.

Rick Stroud thinks it's possible. If so, would a reunion with the coach who gave him his first OC job be conceivable? (strikes me as something Wilks could use as a potential selling point)

Nah. They've got permission. But from what I've read other teams will be given permission and agree to requested compensation as well

The genesis of that breakup was Jones getting drunk. That makes a better comparison to Jim Irsay than David Tepper.

He grew up on the West Coast and is said to prefer it there. Does it affect his job choice? Unknown.

He, and minority owner Condoleezza Rice, as well as Broncos icon John Elway, have connections to Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, and I’d expect Harbaugh to be in the mix for this one. Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is another obvious name to watch, given the job he’s done in Dallas, and his connections to both Paton and Wilson (Quinn was the Seahawks’ defensive coordinator for Wilson’s two Super Bowl seasons). • Where Colts owner Jim Irsay goes with his search is anyone’s guess. But Harbaugh is a name to watch. Obviously, Harbaugh knows Irsay well, and played for him in the ’90s. Also, a guy who I think would be among Harbaugh’s picks for a GM—Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds—is already in Indy. So there are reasons why the fit there would make sense, with a roster that bares some similarities to the one Harbaugh had in San Francisco a decade ago. Don't believe it will. Just sayin'... I'm gonna be interested to see what kind of discussion occurs between Harbaugh and the Colts. Harbaugh might be able to get along okay with Chris Ballard, but I'm not so sure about Ed Dodds.

My guess would be the reason that call was made was because we have an opening. I'd be willing to bet calls were made to the other teams that have already fired their coaches as well. (Denver had reportedly been in touch)

This would basically indicate that Tepper didn't learn a damn thing from the Matt Rhule disaster.
