  1. I'd add if there's anything I've learned over the years of doing this, it's the importance of staffing. One of McDermott's biggest successes is that he hired a rockstar staff. Rhule? Not so much. Getting those hires right or wrong can make or break a head coach.
  2. McAdoo actually hasn't looked so bad since Rhule was fired. The debate though would be between he and Wilks (if there is one).
  3. Wonder who's generally more popular between this year's backups and next year's draft prospects.
  4. I have a really hard time buying the notion that a decision on as high a profile player as Burns would have been made unilaterally. We're not talking about Sean Chandler here.
  5. It's a very small statement, but it does pop a question into my mind. Do we know for sure that McAdoo agrees with Wilks decision to start PJ?
  6. I feel like the line from "Joker" about life being a comedy rather than a tragedy is probably appropriate here
  7. Appreciate it. Right now Lady Cowboy Fan is still recovering from her third surgery so things are kind of busy around here, but that's something I plan to get to in time. One thing I've learned: As much information as you can find about somebody, it's still really hard to predict who will succeed and who won't. But hey, thanks everybody
  8. Oy Yeah, it's about that time again...sadly
  9. More from Brugler... Pretty sure we said the same thing last year about the 2023 class
  10. It actually happens a lot, though more commonly after they're drafted rather than before.
  11. One big flaw in any comparison of Burns to Rhule... Burns is actually good. It's only a question of how good. Rhule was no good whatsoever.
  12. Related note from Dane Brugler...
  13. Which is pretty much all that anybody is suggesting... Fitterer has (I think) three years left on his contract. Nobody's suggesting we extend that. Hell, nobody's even suggesting that his remaining years be guaranteed. About all anybody has actually said is that they've seen enough good in him that they would like to see how he can do without the hindrance of Matt Rhule. Unfortunately, we've got some rabid "guilt by association / fire everybody / let Tepper rebuild it from scratch" folks who apparently think that's too much to ask.
  14. Good analysis. One thing that we heard a lot this offseason was that we needed to get more pass rushing help, and it's valid. Teams can focus pretty heavily on Burns because nobody else is much of a threat. I'm not sure letting go of Burns puts us in a better position if we have to not only replace him but then still turn around and try and get someone to help his replacement. (and I say all this is a Burns skeptic)
  15. Cortal is a real enigma right now. Yes he looked bad, but so did a lot of people under Matt Rhule. And it's a small sample size either way. I don't feel like we know enough about him to either abandon him or depend on him.
  16. Heck, we could end up with a coach that wants to run a 3-4. I haven't typically been that big a fan of Burns because I feel like he's a scheme mismatch. With that said, the market determines what someone is worth, and the market in this case said Burns was worth two firsts and a second. So yeah, that means that at least the market thinks he's worth a big contract.
  17. I'm sure you will. It seems to be about all you've got. Well, that plus refuting any point anyone makes with "no it's not because I say so" as if that actually means something. That's been your thing anytime I've answered your question, and frankly it's kinda boring. Your opinion means a lot more to you than it does to others, but I'm not sure you get that.
  18. Just keep saying it enough. You know how that works
  19. Uh...yeah I'm obviously not a Tepper fan, but at least he's sober.
  20. Funny thing is Pasqualoni ended up finishing a trend. Every DL Coach hired under Rhule has been fired after one season. Rhule didn't have a chance to fire Pasqualoni though since he was fired himself first. Guess Steve Wilks did it for him.
