  1. Not one of my favorites either. Fitterer doesn't have that many guys with past connections that look all that special right now. Morgan does, but the best candidate he had in his orbit already got a job.
  2. For the interested, here's a decent roundup of future prospects from Pro Football Network. NFL head coaching candidates for 2023 Names that interest me the most (not necessarily all from this link)... Bengals OC Brian Callahan Packers ST Coach Rich Bisaccia Giants DC Don Martindale Eagles OC Shane Steichen Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon
  3. OC Shane Waldron is a guy I've seen mentioned a time or two but I don't know that he's exactly on the radar right now.
  4. The absolute disaster that Matt Rhule has been in Carolina might make it more difficult than before for other college coaches to get looks.
  5. There are names, but he's right that there aren't as many "exciting" names. Probably as much as anything it's that so many good candidates got hired last offseason.
  6. Eberflus is head coach of the Bears. Moore's name has been hot, but more performances like this past Sunday night might take that away.
  7. Making roster decisions based on stuff like that would be bullsh-t, especially early in the season.
  8. I'm not necessarily a fan. If we were to go defense, I'd be more inclined to go with Don Martindale.
  9. Ouch. Granted, talking about rankings is pretty useless, especially after one game.

Officially it was Rhule and Hurney together. Rhule's contract gives him final say and has from the beginning. A story was leaked however that Rhule wanted to trade down but Hurney insisted on standing pad and sticking with Derrick Brown. Could that have been meant to bolster Hurney? Unknown. Possible, I suppose.
  11. The correct response was "We can dig it"
  12. I've had a busier week than I was expecting so I haven't reviewed All 22 yet. Still hoping to but my sister in law has been having some health issues and she needs Lady Cowboy Fan and me to help take her to doctors and stuff. Also got grandson's soccer practice coming up. Believe it or not, I'm trying to help coach him. (what I know about soccer wouldn't fill a Post-It note)
  13. I think that sort of thing is way more common at the college level. Position switches aren't all that unusual there because some guys are still kind of finding themselves and their natural positions. By the time you get to the pros, though? Yeah, you should generally know where you're playing.
  14. More than one person has stated that Elflein isn't as bad as the fans think he is. And as long as he's playing center, that's probably true. The problem is that he also isn't as good as Matt Rhule seems to think he is.
  15. For the record, Browns DC Joe Woods is a guy whose name appears on a lot of early lists of potential head coaching candidates for next season.
  16. He may indeed, but this is still not something you want to hear.

    Fitterer didn't draft Gross-Matos.
  18. The whole "find a guy who's good at something and then switch him to doing something else" thing does seem to be a little bit of a trend
  19. Honestly, at this point Ellis is pretty busy. He's got a regular radio gig and he's also doing some pregame work with Clemson. I highly recommend his Twitter.
  20. I doubt the Seahawks would have traded Wilson to a division rival, but the feelings about him in Seattle since his departure seem to be summed up in this old song by Roy Clark...

I've never been a huge Gross-Matos fan, honestly. He shows flashes once ia while but generally just doesn't look like a consistent starter.
  22. Absolutely. Let him review the organization top to bottom and listen to his recommendations.
  23. I was never clear whether Peters dropped out or just didn't make the cut. I know the Niners offered him a raise and the Assistant GM title. Throw in that being GM of the 49ers is his dream job (some say he's actually the real GM anyway). Either way, he and Lynch are under some pretty heavy scrutiny with Trey Lance underperforming after what they gave up to draft him. Ed Dodds definitely dropped out. He wasn't willing to take the job without full control.
