I don't think this trade was about Corral. The only honest to goodness effect I see this having on him is that he's now even less likely to play this season than he already was. But again, it was never about him.

We were literally negotiating this trade at the time we drafted Corral. You have an immediate starter on a one-year deal for minimal cash and a rookie who gets to sit back and learn. Speaking as someone who cares neither for Baker Mayfield nor Matt Rhule, I can objectively say that's not a bad arrangement.

Speaking objectively... This is a really well administered trade when you look at what we gave up and what we're paying. Speaking personally... I'm not a Baker Mayfield fan, but I'll hope for the best.

Mayfield is under contract for one year. Nothing about this trade makes Corral a wasted pick.

My advice? Avoid bringing up that part about how happy endings aren't technically illegal

On the plus side, there's stuff like this... Said it more than once. I think the saving grace of our defense is good personnel. The weakness has been in the coaching, particularly Phil Snow.

Have said the same. We feasted in early games but after week 4 or 5 we really weren't very good. There are certainly good personnel on that side of the ball but defensive coaching last year was heavily overrated.

Probably a lot easier to do when you don't actually read it (as I suspect some haven't).
